Consumer writes in regards to complaint concerning Chrysler safety recall l01 occupant restraint controller module the consumer stated the recall process wasn't handle properly or professionally. The consumer was informed it would take an hour to perform the recall. However, when she returned, the dealer informed her that they had only scanned the module and would have to order the replacement part. When the consumer called the dealer two weeks later, she was told the part still had not been ordered. The dealer told the consumer she was on the list, for the part to be ordered. The dealer stated Chrysler would only allow them to place orders every four days.

2 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 04/03/2012

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that after receiving notification of NHTSA campaign id number: 11v394000 (air bags:frontal:sensor/control module), the contact called a local dealer to secure an appointment for recall repairs. The dealer advised the contact that the parts needed for repairs were not available and they would call the contact once the parts had become available. Two months after the initial point of contact, the dealer still did not have the necessary parts to remedy the vehicle per the recall. The contact stated that the time involved in having the recalled component repaired was insufficient and had exceeded a reasonable time frame. The contact had not experienced a failure. The current mileage was 23,500.

3 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that there was a recall associated with NHTSA campaign id number: 11v394000 (air bags:frontal:sensor/control module) however, the part needed for repairs was unavailable. The dealer advised the contact that the part was on a massive back order and they were unable to provide an expected date for the part to become available. The contact had not experienced a defect. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem.

4 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler town and country. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign id number: 11v394000 (air bags:frontal:sensor/control). The vehicle was taken to the dealer for recall repairs when the contact was advised that the parts needed to complete the repair were placed on hold to a limited quantity of the parts being available. 5 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 09/26/2011

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler town and country touring. The contact stated that the abs failure sensor illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the manufacturer was contacted who confirmed that the VIN did not qualify for repairs under NHTSA campaign id number:11v394000(air bags:frontal:sensor/control module). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 56,300.

6 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 09/09/2011

The van hit a pole at approximately 4o mph. The impact was so severe that the front end and tire were pushed under the driver cuasing the van to be totalled. A forensic expert form the insurance company revewed the data on the van and the expert confirmed that the sensor did not go off.

7 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country. The contact stated that the air bag warning lamp illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the air bag module was sending a mass amount of electrical current to one of the air bags. As a result, the module would need to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign id number: 11v394000 (air bags:frontal:sensor/control module).
