My traction sensor is not working which is causing my a safety issue. When I start driving (in motion), the abs traction starts even when there is no water, ice or poor driving conditions. The dealership replaced the abs module and its still doing it. They now say they will have to replace the sensor in the steering column (wheel). This is very scary as it stops my acceleration and it affects the anti-lock breaks. I was hoping this was all due to an minor auto collision but the insurance company told me there is absolutely no way this could have been caused because of it. They said its a coincidence and that it just happened on its own at the same time. I would say the fault is unknown.
There seems to be an issue with the clockspring mechanism in the steering column of the 2008 t&c vans. Mine went out and when the mechanic tried to get one from the local dealer he was told that it is backordered along with several hundred backordered. Obviously this is an issue that needs to be addressed as it affects many items.
While driving the van stopped working, instrument panel lit up, ac and radio turned off, steering locked and brakes did not work. Contacted local dealership they were unable to diagnose after 2 days. Took it home and same thing happened on 7/11/14. Brought to non-dealership mechanic who is looking into steering column/electrical problem but still nothing after 3 days. I have an extended warranty on vehicle so plan to submit expenses to Chrysler.
