4 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2016

When on the road in warmer weather everything is fine and then all electrical components stop working windows, air conditioner, speed control, radio, not sure what else. All idiot lights come on, wipers come on and wont stop until key is in off position or if you keep driving it will eventuality come to normal but until it does, no windows, no ac makes it a hazard in traffic at temps around 100 degrees. Makes one wonder what will happen next because it gets real hot in the car real fast and it works on your mind. When the weather is cool it hardly ever happens but when it does occur its for a shorter time. Headlites say on but I'm not sure about the brake lites and turn signals.

5 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 03/13/2015

I just got my Chrysler town and country, it hasn't even been three months since I got it and now the barometric pressure is low witch is causing other problems witch also cause the car to shut off while driving I have had one person tell me that the car shouldn't be on the road. I was mad because I only got it because I'm expecting my third child. I don't think its right that now I'm stuck with the car and the dealership can't do anything about it, don't get me wrong I love the car it just the problems I'm having with the car. . . The part that's on recall on my car I was told that Chrysler has made the part yet recall l25 I don't think I'll be getting another Chrysler.

6 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 12/14/2014

For the past several months the car will not start and takes several tries to successfully start the car. It hesitates at around 35 mph and tries to stall. I have been waiting for Chrysler to follow up with a second (l-25) recall notice. Yesterday, 12/14/14 while going around a round-about it died completely and I lost power steering, and all power to the car. I was able to restart the car and return it home. This is my main form of transportation, used to take the kids to school and activities. I was told by the dealer today they have been advised not to touch it by Chrysler and told to contact Chrysler. The representative at Chrysler said I needed to take it up with the dealer as it is not a matter of having a part, but that Chrysler does not have a solution. This is very concerning, as it poses a serious safety to concern to me, my kids, and other drivers. Please let me know what recourse I have in getting Chrysler to complete the full repair to my satisfaction. * mopar website says parts are available. It would seem a huge liability that Chrysler would not make driver and passenger safety priority.

7 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2014

Just purchased a used 2008 Chrysler Town & Country. It was taken to the shop for extensive maintenance, including the replacement of the hub bearing - front right with oem parts. Upon further inspection we ascertained that there is a recall for this part for the 2008 model year. Chrysler notification k19 states: "the front wheel bearings on your vehicle (VIN: xxxxxxx) may develop a growling or grinding noise. The bearing noise may increase or decrease during turning maneuvers. What your dealer will Chrysler will service your vehicle free of charge (parts and labor) well, it turns out that my vehicle VIN number is not included in the recall. Is there a reason for this? can you look into this? thank you.

8 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2014

Many, many , many times this has happened. I will either be slowing down for a red light, to make a turn, or hit a bump and the car shuts off. No particular reason, no idiot lights come on indicating a problem. If I didn't pay attention to the heating/cooling fan, it shuts off, I wouldn't know this has happened. Twice I have been driving on the freeway, hit a bump and the car shuts off. 65 mph with children and pets in the car!. A couple of times the car has just shut off at a stop, no bump, nothing apparent. I have been in to the dealership three times, spending large amounts of money and all they can say to me is I'm sorry we could not duplicate the situation. I received a recall notice on 09-15-2014 about the problem and as of this date, 01-16-2015 I have not been notified that it is my turn to get the ignition fixed. My husband and I both called the dealership two times each and all they can say is that the part hasn't been manufactured or that they haven't heard anything from Chrysler.

We're following up on our vehicle invoice and receipts sent to Chrysler customer assitance, p. O box 21-8007 auburn hills, mi 48321-8007. It has been over 3 months and we still haven't received the proper reimbursement for the recall. We should have received our payment within 60 days as documented in the recall notification. The recall # is l25/ NHTSA 14v-373 due to the frequency operated button ignition key which would cause the engine to shut off. Please contact us with the status or update to this recall.

10 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 11/30/2013

I was driving to the store at approx. 40 mph when all of a sudden I noticed my dashboard and my fuel gage went down , my speed dropped I didnt know what was happening . My car was slowing down but since I was going downhill I coasted. I realized my engine had shut off. I panicked but thankfully thought to turn the ignition switch and the car turned back on. I thought it was a fluke. But this issue has occurred several times while driving. The same scenario. I realized by just bumping the key it turns off the engine. If I turn my ignition and if I don't hold it long enough, it will move back to off position. I mean I barely bump it and it can turn off. It has happened while driving at least 4 times. I have not gone to my Chrysler dealership because I didnt want to pay an out of pocket expense and I no longer have the warranty on it.

11 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 03/14/2013

At low driving speed the engine did not maintain idle and stalled. Due to the engine stall, the brakes, and power steering were disabled and the car continued in motion moving forward at approximately 8 to 10 mph. Driver was able to maneuver to the shoulder of the road and coast to a stop with only the very limited steering and breaking power remaining. Once at a full stop the car was able to restart once the shift lever was placed in the park position. Since this initial incident, the same stall problem has reoccurred about twenty times in total for two different drivers. Each time the car has been in motion at low speed and usually with the driver backing off the accelerator with the driver's foot moving off the gas pedal and onto the brake pedal. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer more than once and it was stated by the service manager that the issue could not be duplicated when test driven. Also it was stated that no fault was recorded by the standard computerized test of the car.

12 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2012

Our 2008 Town & Country touring has begun shutting down while moving without warning. It has happened six times in 3 months at both lower speeds, and once going 60+ mph on a busy interstate. When it loses power, we lose steering and breaking power making it very difficult to control the vehicle. This is a very dangerous situation, particularly for a car normally filled with children. It also occasionally will stall every time you start it. Ours will throw no codes and no warning lights come on, so no one has been able to find the problem. The dealership claims no knowledge. This problem is discussed on multiple forums and going back only one year there are at least 7 other complaints of the same issue (odi id numbers: 10453837, 10452564, 10450629, 10441113, 10438800, 10428568 & 10422766) and many more dating past that. I know you all are probably very busy reviewing complaints, but Chrysler and NHTSA should not be waiting for some one to get in a serious accident before figuring this out becomes a priority.

13 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 10/12/2010

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle became unresponsive to the contacts attempts to accelerate. The tps warning light was illuminated on the instrumental panel prior to the failure. The vehicle was towed to a dealer who informed the contact that she would need to replace the full body throttle lamp and pcv valve. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 52,600.

14 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/12/2010

While driving on a major thoroughfare, I accelerated and then the car would not decelerate when I released my foot from the accelerator. I braked but the car was now revving at about 4,000 rpms without my foot on the gas pedal (but on the brake). I put the car into neutral and coasted to a stop and turned the car off. Tried turning it on again but car still racing. While waiting for help with the car turned off, after a few minutes I heard a pop from the area of the gas pedal. I started the car and it ran normally. Carefully drove home and brought car to dealership the next day.

15 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2010

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler town and country. The contact was driving approximately 50 mph when the accelerator pedal abnormally dropped to the floorboard. The contact applied the brakes and coasted to the shoulder. The failure recurred intermittently while driving at various speeds. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostics or repairs. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000. The VIN was not available.

16 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2009

In my 2008 Chrysler town and country which now has about 70,000 miles on it I have changed the front brakes and rotors 6 diffrent times. When going down a hill and braking the steering wheel shakes so bad and I dont feel like I have a full petal. Have taken back several times to ask about the problem and all I get is a run around from a chrsler garage.

17 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 02/04/2009

Regarding safety recall: l25/NHTSA 14v-373 I have been complaining about this problem since 2008! since it is an intermittent problem, the service representatives at east hills Chrysler (greenvale, NY) ignored me. I was told repeatedly that there was no such problem. My car stalled several times when I was on NY expressways going approximately 55 mph, and on neighborhood roads going a range of 25 to 40. It happened to my 18 yr old daughter on the long island expressway when she was going 55. We and you are lucky no accident occurred and we were able to get to the side of the road. The car does not start properly either. The ignition does not catch unless the fobik is wiggled of the brakes and gas pedal are tapped repeatedly. I complained about this problem every time I took my car to the dealership over the last 6 years. Each time, I was given a different excuse. Now east hills has my car indefinitely because parts are on back order indefinitely. To boot, the loaner car was dirty, smells bad, windshield was smoky, one tire needed air, and the washer fluid was empty. I am not at all satisfied with this car or the east hills Chrysler dealership. Maybe someday, you will also acknowledge the brake system problem. For now, it's about time you acknowledged the ignition/fobik problem! we've known about the problem for years!.

18 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/28/2008

I purchased a 2008 Chrysler town and country van, I was told it was a trade in from an old couple that needed a 4 wheel drive, I later found out it was a former rental. The problem is that when you take your foot off the gas the vehicle does not slow down, it continues to go what ever speed you were traveling, I have to drive with my foot on the brake to go the speed limit. I have had it back to the dealer and they tell me that there is nothing from Chrysler for this problem, I feel this is a major safety issue and I am afraid to have my wife and grandchildren in the vehicle. We are going to get a speeding ticket because you can't make the vehicle go the speed limit without having your foot on the brake. Or we are going to wind up rear ending someone, because you expect the vehicle to slow down when you take your foot off of the gas, but it doesn't. The problem is consistent over 40 miles per hour. And it has been duplicated by the dealer. The vehicle in question is a 2008, Chrysler town and country van with a 3. 3l engine.
