Fuel relay system failure when searching online apparently this is such an extremely common issue there is a special bypass part that was made, and part of a recall for durangos and jeeps but not the town and country, even though this part is failing all the time in this vehicle as well. Before it went completely dead, it did fail once when I was driving, which is a huge safety issue. I was lucky it started again and that I wasn’t going very fast. I didn’t know at the time that is was the fuel relay system failing until it finally stopped working and my car no longer started. Once bypassed with the bypass part it started immediately, however I had to buy the bypass part to confirm. This should be a recalled issue though, since it is an extremely hazardous issue if it causes failures while driving.
Has had some issues trying to turn on after sitting over night. It will just kill the battery but it just started to die while driving and the entire system shuts off. All the lights, the steering wheel locks up and gas goes out. All you can do is brake and hope that you can stop in a good spot before it dies fully. This has happened a few times with my kids in the car and now I just don’t dare to drive. The tipm needs to be recalled.
The fuel pump relay has failed. The relay is part of the tipm and the cost to repair at the dealer is well over one thousand dollars.
The tipm is malfunctioning and causing the fuel pump to never turn of on the car. The only way to turn it off is to pull the fuse.
Vehicle has repeatedly died while driving on the highway. After sitting approximately 1 hour it will start again.
Fuel pump relay not working and caused van to stall while driving. Then van wouldn’t start due to not getting fuel. Vehicle is not safe to drive due to possibility of stalling while driving.
Confirmed cylinder number 2 misfire. Performed relative compression test and intake trace pull. Confirmed that number two has low compression and is directly affecting cylinder number fives intake pull. Removed spark plug and did a compression test on cylinder 2 it had 90psi of compression and the rest of the cylinders were at 148psi of compression. Used a bore scope and found cylinder damage in video attached vehicle needs a new engine to correct customers concern. When going up a small incline at 30-45mph engine would stall out. I have 3 little kids and I drive a lot for my job and want to be safe on the road! also my blind spot detectors have constantly been on since about 75,000 miles. It’s kind of a distraction when you are driving at night.
The can has issue starting due to tipm malfunctions effecting the fuel pump. Also causes battery to die from fuel pump not shutting off when car sure off. The car has shut off on me. A few times. Most recently on the highway while being in the left lane. It was very dangerous. And hard for me to get it somewhere safe.
The external fuel pump relay has failed causing stalling conditions while driving and starting problems. Along with that, it has drained the battery due to not turning the fuel pump off after the car is turn off. The part was recalled on the Jeep and durango models with the same 3. 6l engine. There have been many reports of this online with town and country and Dodge caravan models with the 3. 6l and 5. 7l engines.
Bad relay module: 1. Battery drained while parked in garage overnight, multiple occasions. 2. Fuel pump continued to run and make noise when the vehicle is shut off. 3. Chrysler dealer performed diagnosis and confirmed that the tipm require replacement, replacement part will take additional two months to arrive. 4. Engine stalled while making low speed right turn at high traffic intersection and nearly caused accident with children onboard. Likely caused by shut off fuel pump. 5. The vehicle is absolutely unsafe to drive and require immediate repair.
It's the timp the big black box with all the fuses in it I have had so much problems with it it messed up the alternator and the battery and the doors and the fule pump now I have to get a new box and a fused pump because it won't start at all now it have quite on me while I was driving before it broke all the way down I don't know why they ain't a recall on it yet.
Chrysler recalled Jeep n durango models due to faulty fuel pump relay. Town and country vans were added to recall expansion. #r09- 14v-530 my van doesn't start properly and have been stranded with 2 young children n cold weather. I need my van for work as I'm a single mother and just bought the van. I need this repaired immediately.
Car stalls while driving. Looses brakes and steering. Mechanics can not determine cause. No codes stored. Almost caused a collision happened 4 times in a month.
When trying to start start button is pushed, van turns over, starts for ~2 seconds and shuts off. Takes several tries to get it to completely start and continue running. Also when turning van off. Push button, van stops running, however, it switches to accessory and takes several times pushing button to switch to off and stay there. Vehicle is on level ground and stationary parked position. This has been going on for a month off and on. Recently the last week.
The van would not crank when I got ready to leave work. I waited a bit, put my halo charger on it and it cranked. The next morning it would not crank. It would turn over but not start. We had it towed to a mechanic who kept it for 4 days and told us we needed to take it to the dealer. We were told that it was the tipm, $1600 to replace, but $400 to do a bypass.
Vehicle has less than 85,000 miles was working fine then few days ago would not start. The starter worked fine but would not turn over. Let it sit for half an hour and it started on first crank so I let is it run for a few minutes. Turned off and left for an hour or so tried again and had to repeat entire process. . . Vehicle was stationary because we're afraid to drive it anywhere. Original owner is in a va healthcare facility and his daughter and me (husband are handling his affairs. Because of that it is my contact info imputed.
Tapping noise coming from top of engine diagnosis multi cam shaft rollers.
My van needs a new tipm. This is a recall for some Chrysler vehicles under p54/NHTSA 14v-530. Why does this not include all Chrysler vehicles? the van starts intermittently. Sometimes without issue other times takes minutes and several attempts.
My car would not start had to jump it. Thought battery, no took it to mechanic to diagnose the problem fuel tipm, relay switch. Told Chrysler did not recall my vehicle but recalled other vehicles that had the same problem and was built in the same year as mine. Vehicle was stationary the first time. Then it stalled out while I was driving. I was turning onto a city street from my residential complex.
While in motion on a freeway at freeway speeds my van just stalled. The traction control light came on first and then it just stalled. Luckily I was able to pull over safely. I called for a tow because the van would not start after that, it just kept cranking and would not turn over. The repair shop was able to start it the next day and saw a code p061c. Which means it would be 5 different problems. They are keeping it to drive it and hopefully get it to stall again. This is a major safety issue, what if my kids with with me and we crashed. How many complaints will there be before someone steps in to fix this problem. There have numerous complaints for this same issue. Hopefully something is done before someone dies.
Van has had very few problems, I have reached approximately 190000 miles and started having the stalling while driving issues that others have also reported. There are no indicators or pre warnings on dashand actually takes a few seconds to realize the car has shut off. After it happened the first time, my mechanic suggested to start with a full tune up as no codes were coming up. It has happened twice since. It is a terrifying problem, to just have car stop at random with no warning at any speed. 3 times. . . 1st in motion city street going straight, 2nd time in motion city street right after making a turn, 3rd time on highway slowing down to turn. Why is this not part of the recall r09 for durangos/grand cherokee? I can no longer trust to have my kids in this car that is designed for families. . . How do I know the replacement parts will be safe?.
Multiple times the vehicle has stalled and completely shut down while in use. My father had it stall twice while on the freeway at freeway speeds. I have recently had the vehicle stall while idling at stop lights and stop signs when trying to proceed forward. We also had an issue where we took the vehicle out of park and into reverse and using the gas pedal was not propelling the vehicle at a proportional rate - and then when put back in drive the same thing occurred - the vehicle was still running. We had to park, turn it off, and restart the vehicle which cleared the issue in that moment. This is extremely dangerous as the vehicle completely turns off while you are in the middle of using it! we have our babies in these vehicles while we are using them! I have read too many other accounts of this happening to other owners who also are spending thousands of dollars for mechanics to go hunting for solutions - most of which do not work. This is unsafe and needs to be investigated as a larger issue with this vehicle. I'm listing my speed below as 5 mph because that has been a frequent case; however, another driver of the vehicle has experienced this at high speeds previously on my vehicle.
1) -stereo and navigation system on end off 2) - warning light's turn on on the board and run out of power 0 power 3) - injeccion problem.
2018 my vehicle started having a problem where I would turn the key and it would just sit there turning over turning over and turning over without me having to hold the key down and it wouldn't actually start and I was told to wait 30 seconds and start it , it would work but then it stopped happening and was fine. Now last week my van started doing it again. I was told again to turn the key without starting it wait 30 seconds and then try to start it it would start after the 4 or 5th try. And after a couple of tries it would start but then die. Then the next day I tried 12 different times doing this and my van would not start. I had to have it towed to a garage and he hooked it up to two different computers he said he's 99. 9% positive that the tipm is bad. He looked up for recalls for the tipm under Chrysler and it only shows that there was recalls on Jeep grand cherokees some wranglers Dodge durangos and Dodge grand caravans which I do know that the caravan and the town and country are almost the same I also have seen numerous reports of other people having the same exact problem as I've been having I would like to know why there is not a recall on the Chryslers Town & Country I was told this part will cost me $1,500 to have it fixed.
Our vehicle will randomly turn off while driving. This has been happening for over a year. We took our vehicle into the dealership. They looked for codes in the computer to help fix the problem but they said no codes were generated so there was nothing they could do. They suggested, when it happens again, come back to the dealership immediately so they can look for codes. We did this and they found nothing. Their next suggestion was to leave the vehicle with them for a couple of weeks so they could drive it and try to see if it would happen while they have it. We did that and they found nothing. Their last suggestion was to wait for it to get worse. There is the problem. They are asking us to drive a vehicle that we know shuts down while driving. It has happened while driving on the highway, it has happened while driving on a busy street during rush hour. Fortunately, we were able to pull over safely to restart the car. The concern is this situation is so random it may happen when we can't pull over safely and us or somebody else gets hurt. We have looked online and have found that others have experienced similar situations. It is awful that nobody has a way to fix this family vehicle until it gets worse. We feel we are forced now to get rid of this vehicle.
The vehicle shut off while driving. No error codes or poor running performance. It simply shut down. Has happened a few times. This latest event was on the high way at a high rate of speed. With engine off no airbags, power steering/brakes. Family was in the car. Incredibly dangerous situation.
Tipm module has been deemed defective by multiple mechanics. I was informed of an active investigation into this. Van refuses to start. Have not had van running in two months now. Replaced battery and alternator to eliminate those as the problem.
My car shuts off while in motion.
My town and country speeds up automatically on occasion. I feel the accelerator drop down from my foot. The cruise control is not on, I never use it. It is do bad I I am looking for places to run the car off of the road if necessary. I have had my car into the dealership twice and was treated like a dumb woman and told that it can not happen. I have less then 30,000 miles on it.
The tipm was replaced by the dealer after the engine stalled (while stationary) and/or would not shut off. Other electrical problems occurred when both sliding side doors would not open or close for a week and then they would work perfectly, then not work.
While driving vehicle began to act strangely. Windshield wipers running, headlights turned off, vehicle came out of gear, then stalled. Total loss of power while driving down highway with children in vehicle. No lights, no flashers. Instrument panel began to blink. Only way to recover was to pull battery cable and reset computer. Multiple relays inside tipm module chattering while having issue.
On 12/12/2015 bought a used 2012 town and country touring l with push-to-start feature, with 40,500 miles. Starting 12/20/2015 I would get in the car, step on brake, push the start button, the engine starts up, and vroom for a couple seconds, then died. If I push the start button again it would try crank all day but would not start. I'd have to foot-off the brake and push start to have it in the off mode, open and close the door to "reset" everything as I just get in the car, and re-try again, and it would start up normally. It was a once a week thing, and now once every couple days. I found a large amount of similar complaints online and all points to the tipm defect. I'm concerned about the issue, in addition to start up, might happen during driving. My car is under extended warranty and I'll have it fixed soon, but I'm concerned about if the replacement would be the same parts that would go bad again in three years. Chryslershould issue a recall with a new-and-improved tipm module.
Car sometimes does not start, takes 4 to 6 times. Engine stalls. New battery could be dead overnight or in a few hours. When this happens doors can not be unlocked, no ligths, no radio, or instrumentation panel. Needs to be jump, then works, but it has been happenning often.
I work at a used car dealership we have had 3 town and country minivans with a 3. 6 liter engine where the fuel feed line comes off the fuel rail we have ckd with Chrysler and no recalls yet.
