The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the massage "blind spot service unavailable" would display and the blind spot arrow was present in the driver side mirror causing a visibility hazard for the driver. The contact indicated that the while driving in the dark the arrow created a glare in the side mirror making it difficult to view images in the mirror. Also a constant audible chime was present while operating the vehicle. In addition the backup camera was also inoperable. The cause of the failures were not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 120. 000.
I do not have a siriusxm subscription, they sent an unsolicited offer for a 3 month trial and activated satellite system on radio, model 430n, in vehicle. This happened sometime after March 4, 2024. I did not listen to siriusxm on vehicle until sometime mid April. I noticed changes in the way some safety related systems worked and finally realized they started with the trial activation. What changed: the is no audible warning sound, just silence when the following are turned on our activated; turn signals when blinking, blind spot is activated when changing lanes and a vehicle is in blind spot, rear cross traffic warning when traffic present, rear parking collision warning when obstacle is present. Vehicle had audible warning sounds for all of this until satellite radio trial was activated. Why is a radio company able to disable required safety systems on a vehicle?.
