3 Air Brake problem of the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 08/20/2010

Had Chrysler 2008 Town & Country from 4/24/08 to 7/25/10. Had 3 repairs done, and in aug2010 signed for ownership. Had recall on front brakes, took to dealer, who checked front and back brakes. Told dealer there was a "howling" in rear and right rear tire was very hot. Dealer said front brakes appeared ok, but mfg. Did not lubricate rear brakes as they were dry and completely shot. Had to replace rear brakes , rotors and calipers pads for $324. 00. Car had only 16,497 miles and was 2 1/2 years old. Called Chrysler and they said would issue one time refund. Called later and they said would not replace as this was "normal wear and tear". Checked on line there were 111 complaints for same car. . . Then they are replaced many times! I would not buy another Chrysler although I had a 2004 for a few years with no problem.

4 Air Brake problem of the 2010 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 07/01/2010

Our 2010 Chrysler Town & Country has given us nothing but trouble since it was 3 months old. The transmission shutters in reverse (dealer says "normal"). Transmission failed while on vacation. Would not downshift or upshift properly. Transmission replaced (dealer lied and said it was aminor repair and was "rebuilt", Chrysler zone office said it was a major failure and had been replaced). New transmission has surge/bump shift from 2nd-3rd gear. Dealer and Chrysler engineer said "normal" but reflashed the computer. The brakes have been worse. . . And an ongoing issue. At 3500 miles, they started to make a metal on metal grinding type of noise. I lived with it until the second oil change at around 6000 miles. Front pads were replaced, rotors were turned. 3000 miles later, the noise came back. Brakes were replaced again -- this time front and rear. Dealer and Chrysler accepted no responsibility, yet said they were replaced for "customer satisfaction. " every 3000 miles since, the grinding noise returned and the brakes were replaced. The latest time, the dealer did not replace and said, again, that the grinding noise was normal. Said pads had 90% left and were not "worn enough to warrant replacement. " so I will go back in a couple thousand miles to have them done again? this is a safety issue. Chrysler has given me an extended warranty (that does not cover the brakes) and also offered me $5000 on a new car. . . But this thing has tanked in value so much, I am far more than $5000 upside down in it. All of these things (and loose door hinge bolts, squeaks, rattles, etc) have been described as "normal", yet I have been told that they are only fixing these items to make me happy. Nobody will admit to the fact that there is something very wrong with this car.

5 Air Brake problem of the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 06/10/2010

Complaint is on a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country minivan. The brake system is junk. My vehicle has 30,000 miles on it and I am in the process of putting front brakes on for the third time. If you count the brakes that come with the vehicle then it is 4 times. I have also replaced the rear brakes. I have owned vehicles in the past and this is the first time that I had to replace brakes let alone three times within 30,000 miles. The first time being 10,000 miles. I drive my child around in this vehicle and I believe that this is unsafe. If you look this problem up on the internet you would be amazed with the many similar complaints. Something really should be done with Chrysler.

6 Air Brake problem of the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 01/27/2010

I purchased the vehicle in may of 2009. After 3 weeks I noticed noise that sounded like the brakes were bad. I had the vehicle checked on 6/2009, 8/2009, and 12/2009 was told they were fine. And that it was the type of material that is used. 1/27/2010 was told I need new brakes and rotors at 25432 miles. Called dealer/Chrysler to find out about warrenty and was told that is not covered. I thought it had a bumper tp bumper warrenty till 36,000 miles. Dealer lied to me. It is going to cost $650. 00 to fix it. I have done research and found out this is a common problem with the Chrysler products. I also can not get the tire-pressure monitoring system to turn off. I was told the tires are fine. Cn.

7 Air Brake problem of the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 12/28/2009

My 2008 Chrysler Town & Country needs new brakes and the front and rear rotors resurfaced after only 12,000 miles. It does not seem reasonable that the brakes would wear down so quickly.
