The contact owned a  2013 Chrysler Town & Country. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, his wife alerted him that there was smoke coming from underneath the hood. The contact was able to drive to his residence and safely exited the vehicle with his wife and their four children. No injuries were sustained and no medical attention was received. No police or fire department reports were filed. The contact opened the hood and saw that it had caught fire. The contact was able to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher. The vehicle remained at the contact's residence and was not yet deemed totaled by the insurance company. The dealer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Prior to the failure, the contact stated that there was smoke coming from underneath the hood. The vehicle then stalled and was not able to restart immediately. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that there was fluid leaking from the oil filter housing. The failure mileage was 156,058.

The contact owned a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country. The contact stated that the vehicle caught fire overnight inside of the garage, while the contact was sleeping. The contact was made aware of the failure when he went inside of the garage and it was filled with smoke. The vehicle was filled with smoke and the dashboard had melted. No police or fire department report was filed. The contact's son was able to pull the vehicle out of the garage with a chain. The vehicle remained parked outside of the contact's garage. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.
