Unknown Or Other problem #1

The dash flashed, and the headlights would no longer turn on. This is due to the tipm (totally integrated power module) shorting out, and has been reported all over the internet with various Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep vehicles. I was made to pay approximately $250 for the repairs. In addition, a month later, the wireless ignition node died and the car would not start at all, and for that I had to pay $606.

Unknown Or Other problem #2

My wife's Chrysler minivan died at 40mph while driving today. Had only manual steering to pull over to the side of the road. Could have caused an accident. After a few seconds it started driving normally. What is wrong with my minivan it is in excellent condition. Checked under hood all fluid levels are ok.

Unknown Or Other problem #3

While using the oem vehicle jack to remove a flat tire. The jack slipped away from the vehicle twice and the vehicle fell to the ground. I checked the position location and configuration of placement of jack against the owner's manual and was properly used. Another quality process and part from Chrysler.

Unknown Or Other problem #4

2008 Chrysler town and country. Consumer writes in regards to safety recall lo1, problem with vehicle replacement parts not being distributed in a timely fashion. Insufficient recall information.

Unknown Or Other problem #5

On 3 occasions, when I turn off the ignition and remove the key from my 2010 Chrysler town and country, the car continues to run as if the key was still in the car. It takes over an hour of fiddling with reinserting the key to get it to actually turn off. This is dangerous because I cannot park and leave my car while it is still running without a key even in the ignition. Someone could get inside and drive away without needing a key. . . . Not to mention carbon monoxide poisoning in a garage. I have brought the car to the dealer twice for the problem, but they have been unable to find a cause.

Unknown Or Other problem #6

Burning heater hose, smells like antifreeze. Then smoke from rubber could lead to fire.

Unknown Or Other problem #7

We have had many mechanical concerns with our new t&c 2011. We have taken our vehicle in many times to cerritos Dodge Chrysler dealership. After a failed attempt to fix something within the transmission, they completely replaced the transmission. There were still concerns and a week later the vehicle had belts and the water pump replaced. To date, many of our initial concerns still exist and are not being fixed. Concerns include: 1. Noises from under the hood. 2. Shudder/ shake while the vehicle is in reverse. 3. Keyless start malfunctions, it continues to read "defected key", after the keys have been reset, 4. While using keyless, the vehicle shuts off when putting the car into reverse/drive. 5. Rough idle, the vehicle seems to struggle to stay running. 6. When changing gears, the shift makes a clunking/grinding noise. The only consistent thing about this vehicle is its inconsistency. The dealership states that the noises are "normal". The regional area service manager has been contacted, and has sided with the dealership. Corporate has also been contacted, and they are investigating the current situation.

Unknown Or Other problem #8

My husband, myself and our 4 year old daughter were driving our 2005 chrsyler Town & Country touring Mini van, all of a sudden was a loud bang sound. My husband was able to pull the car over and while doing so I looked in the back seat to check on my 4 year old daughter who had her face covered with both arms. We found the sliding door window on the passenger side had exploded and shattered. This has traumatized my 4 year old daughter and thank god she wasn't hurt. Our first thoughts were someone was shooting in our vehicle. The cops came to the seen and couldn't find any bullet marks, they stated it must have been a defect. I have contacted Chrysler customer service and there are supposedly no recalls with out VIN#. This could have been a very serious situation and I feel as if Chrysler should be held responsible for this. I am having to pay $100. 00 deductible for this repair.

Unknown Or Other problem #9

Strut tower corroded and spring and strut popped thru and caused loss of control.

Unknown Or Other problem #10

Sometime in the begining of October 2011 while checking/ adjusting the air pressure in my tires the rh front valve stem snapped off just below where the valve core threads in causing a complete loss of pressure. This seemed like a fluke problem, so the stem was replaced at my own cost. Today, 12/1/2011, while checking/ adjusting the air pressure again the rh rear valve stem snapped off just like the previous one did approx. 2 months ago. Some fluke occurence? not twice. Once again the part was replaced at my own cost/ time so we weren't down a vehicle. In my opinion it appears that the metal valve stems for the tpms are made of a faulty grade metal, and or the velve cores were over torqued, causing a fracture/ stress crack in the stem. After doing some research on the internet this seems to be quite a problem with at least several hundred Dodge/ Chrysler owners. In a way this makes me feel better being it's not just me that this is happening to, but it's definately not an isolated incident. Now I still have two tires that have not had this problem yet, but when time allows I will be replacing all the valve stems with rubber ones and just dealing with the tpms idiot light being on in the dash. So much for new/ easier to use technology! this wont cause an issue with me, living in michigan because we dont have vehicle inspections, but there are several states that will fail an inspection if the tpms light is on. In closing, luckily these valve stems failed while servicing the vehicle, and not driving down the road at 55+ mph, otherwise the results might not have been the same. I've worked in quality control for the automotive manufacturing industry for 20+ years producing and inspecting tight tolerance/ safety related parts, and feel that this really needs to be looked into further. It is a definate safety concern.

Unknown Or Other problem #11

Bought my 2005 t&c Chrysler minivan in spring of 2009 with a little over 69,000 miles on it. Few months after purchase the red airbag warning light would occassionally come on while at idle or driving rates. No other problems occured and it wasn't happening frequently. By the end of the first year of ownership, the driver side back door lock quit working with the automatic locks, and within a year an a half the driver's side window would occassionally not roll up or down and the front dome lights quit working. Replaced an air conditioner part also. Spent $500 on the front end as well that year. When window failure was more frequent I started researching on the internet about problems that have been common in this make and model of van. On oct 4th 2011, the van failed to start, making a ticking sound, figured battery or altenator. We cleaned battery cables, tried what we could to get it started. The radio and dashlights came on,all the gauges would jump erractically; when we rolled up the passsenger windows radio remained on, however when we rolled up the drivers window the radio and all gauges quit working. We ended up jumping it and were able to drive it home. Had the battery tested and tried a brand new battery to make sure that was the only problem. When we put the battery in and started it, flames shot up from the middle section of the van, just infront of the engine. The panic alarm, the horn, and the windshield wipers where all going off. As soon as we got the battery disconnected the fire went out and alarms and wipers went off. I talked to the nearest Chrysler dealership and from explanation of the various problems they said it sounded like several little problems as opposed to one big electrical problem. I have 3 small children and after the experiences I have had with the van and reading others issues online, I cant wait to get rid of this piece.

Unknown Or Other problem #12

While driving along at approximately 45 mph on highway 158 in north carolina, the tire pressure warning light came on. By the time the van could be safely pulled over to the side of the road and stopped, the left front tire was almost completely flat. The spare tire was installed and when the failed tire was laid on it's side the valve stem/tpm sensor fell inside the tire. The next day the van was taken to the nearest Chrysler dealer for repair. The dealer stated that the retaining nut that holds the sensor in place must have cracked and allowed the air to escape from the tire. The mechanic said that he has seen many of these failures where the aluminum retaining nut cracks. He inspected the other three sensors and recommended that they be replaced before they also fail. The dealer did not have the necessary part to install a new sensor and would have to order it. Because we were on vacation at the time and could not wait the time to get the part, the dealer installed a standard valve stem to get us home. He advised us that the warning light would remain on constantly until a proper sensor was installed. The dealer also advised us to get the proper sensor as soon as we returned home. This failure is a serious safety issue. We were fortunate that we were not traveling at interstate speeds or the outcome could have resulted in an accident. Chrysler should be required to recall these sensors before someone is seriously injured.

Unknown Or Other problem #13

The wiper blades (both front and back window) turn on without warning. The windshield wiper fluid will spurt out. And the horn will honk. These items will act like this for a short time and up to 10 minutes and won't stop. The car has stopped while I have been driving and will not start for up to 15 minutes. The cars engine will be running even after turning the key to off and taking the key out of the ignition. I have not used the transponder for no other reason than to start the car. The wipers, fluid and horn do not happen all of the time but, it does happen frequently. The car stopping has occurred twice and while my mobility limited mother was in the car with me.

Unknown Or Other problem #14

No initial sign were noticed, the failure occured once and it left the vehicle disabled nothing at this time has been repaired the issue is the electronic throttle control.

Unknown Or Other problem #15

While driving my 2008 town and country van I smell something burning: please tell me if this is a safety issue with these vans. . . . . This has been going on for a couple days and the smell is getting stronger , I cant see anything but the smell is bad!!!.

Unknown Or Other problem #16

Rear sliding doors on both sides have on several occasions shut on their own after being opened by me either with remote or using the door handle. Me and grandkids have gotten struck by door as it is coming back. Door will not sense that someone or something is in the opening. This is a serious issue that I can't let go on any longer.

Unknown Or Other problem #17

I took my 2010 Chrysler Town & Country limited Mini van to the dealer to have the ignition switch modified based on a recall notice from Chrysler. When the car was returned the switch was so difficult to turn I called to complain. My husband returned with the van on 8/2/2011 and was told that was the recall repair. When my husband left the dealer the switch prevented the turn signals from functioning because it is difficult to get the switch off of the "start" position and on to the "on" position. There was also no radio function. In the "start" postion this causes electrical issues with the function of the car, which the recall was suppose to fix. The dealer stated that in order to do the recall this is they way the switch has to work and that this is the way the switches are installed in the 2011 models as well. He stated that the design of the key prevents any standard type of ignition switch from being installed and that Chrysler does not offer the push button ignition for this model van. I must either accept this recall repair or risk that my car may shut itself off during operation. I had the recall repair done because I began having an electrical problem with my radio going off for no apparent reason.

Unknown Or Other problem #18

Problem is the tire valve stems on the tire pressure monitoring system broke off. This occurred without warning after a 20 mile drive and had been setting in a parking lot for 10 min. The end of the valve stem just blew off. Good thing we were not going down the road at 70 mph. I saw on the internet hundreds of these have been occurring. This could cause loss of control and safety from being stranded or worse. These need to be recalled and replaced with ones that do not corrode. I put new tires on this vehicle a couple of months ago to be safe and now I can not trust a simple valve stem !!!!!!!!!.

Unknown Or Other problem #19

My airbag light came on so I went online and found out that there was a recall on the sensor in my area. I took my van to the dealership to be fixed. When they were done they told me that is was going bad, but the airbag light was not due to the sensor. It was due to my clock spring in my airbag system. I have not been able to fix it due to the cost, but the more investigative work I have done, this is another issue that is a major problem with this year and make. I have also noticed that it was a problem for past years of this vehicle and they need to make some changes on the product that is being used.

Unknown Or Other problem #20

Several incidents of serpentine belt disengaged (slipped off pulleys) caused loss of steering and overheated engine. First time happened in car wash and three times driving through rain puddles.

Unknown Or Other problem #21

While driving down the interstate at speed the warning indicator sounded and all the gauges zeroed out and the van temporarily lost power this has happened on three occasions it only last a second and the van seems normal afterwards. Not sure if its a computer glitch or something else.

Unknown Or Other problem #22

Driving my car home I pulled over in a turn out to move something in the rear compartment that was making noise. That took approx. 30-45 seconds until I was back in the drivers seat. I smelled what I thought to be a forest fire. It smelled like wood or trash burning, not a vehicle smell of oil, gas, rubber burning etc. I then saw smoke coming up through the carpet and floor mat of my front passenger floorboard. This didn't make sense to me, so I quickly looked at the instrument panel which had no indication of engine trouble or overheating. So I immediately reversed the car to see if there was vegetation under where I had parked and there was not. So I pulled back into the lane still not realizing that my car was on fire. As soon as I pulled out and accelerated it was obvious that my car was on fire. Thank god there was an immediate exit to pull off of the highway. I went to the bottom of the off ramp, put the car in park, popped the automatic opener for the rear door and turned the engine off. Luckily I had a fire extinguisher. So I read the directions very quickly and pulled the pin. Then I pulled the latch for the hood compartment and went to open the hood. As I lifted the hood I saw flames shooting up from behind the engine along the passenger compartment fire wall of the vehicle. I used my fire extinguisher to put out the flames but it ran out and the car was still smoking and smoldering. I then dialed 911 from my cell phone and luckily a chp was only a minute away and cdf was only several minutes behind him. Cdf continued to hose the engine compartment from both above and underneath. I had the car towed to my local mechanic and he can't determine a reason that the car caught on fire. The only damage was the insulation to the passenger compartment fire wall and two spark plug wires were partly burned. Farmers ins. Co. Nor the mechanic can determine any cause.

Unknown Or Other problem #23

About may or June of this year, the headlights of our 2005 Town & Country van started failing to come on when the interior switch was turn "on". At first, simple toggeling would get them to work though the frequency of having to do this as well as the lights failing to stay on have increased significantly in the recent months. This is my wife's primary work vehicle and she ofter returns from work when it's dark. She had a number of instances where the headligts have just "gone out" while she was driing. I was looking on the iternet recently to see if there were any posts as to what is causing this to happen and not many have posted an definative answer to the headlight failure. My other major issue with this 2005 Town & Country is the ac system. We have had this fixed over 11 times since we purchased the vehicle new in October of 2005 with the first repair coming less than a month after we purchased the van.

Unknown Or Other problem #24

2009 town and country- I have had thefront breaks replaced 3 times since I bought the vehicle. This includes 2 after the original recall. The car only has 21000 miles.

Unknown Or Other problem #25

I was driving on the highway in my Mini van when the right side rear panel window exploded. Sounded like a gun shot. The window was gone. I pulled over out shear fear and a truck with two men following behind me witnessed the explosion and pulled over as well to make sure I was ok. They remarked they have never seen anything like it. This was in 2007 with approximately 20,000 miles on vehicle. I went to dealership and had window replaced. Well it happened again yesterday 5/20/2011. Close to 4 years later with about 79,000 miles on the vehicle. My husband was driving the vehicle, I was in front passenger seat, my dad behind me and my child in the far back seat. The same window exploded, again sounded like a gun shot. The window exploded and my child seated in the far back but luckily seated by the left side rear panel covered her head and face from the explosion. Thank goodness she was not next to the window that exploded. In both cases when that same window exploded there was no type of weather conditions happening. Just quiet calm day. The dealeship is doing nothing about it since they have no other record of this occuring with other Mini vans. The dealership basically is saying just to replace the window once again. I am not comfortable with this resolution for I think there is something terribly wrong and it is not safe. I worry about other familieis and their town and country Mini vans especially since this is where most children sit. I do not trust that window now.

Unknown Or Other problem #26

Traveling in marked 70mph zone in number two lane of westbound traffic. Engine suddenly cut off. Luckily could coast through two lanes to side of freeway. Car started up and got home. Next day, took to dealer who could not find any problems in car's computer. Nor, could find problem when test driving. Dealer said they couldn't do anything more unless there was a recall. I was almost rear ended when engine failed. I also lost steering and brakes, and car was difficult to control until restarted.

Unknown Or Other problem #27

2008 Chrysler town and country walter p edition needed whell bearings replaced at 40000 miles.

Unknown Or Other problem #28

I bought the vehicle over 15 months prior with 23000 miles. In less than a year, the vehicle would just shut off upon deceleration and/or coming to a stop - usually after exiting the highway. Since then it just shuts off randomly - usually when stopping at a red light. I took the van to the dealer who could not find any codes. Instead, they charged me $300+ for a flush! when I took it back, they told me that it oculd be the transmission and tightened the wires. The problem remained. A month later, I took the van to another auto repair shop who could not find the problem until he went out on the road with me. Again, I was told that it was likely the transmission. Approximately 3 months later as the problem continued, the hose blew and I was told to replace the hose as well as the transmission. Now that the transmission has been repaired/rebuilt, the problem still occurs!!!!!!!!!!! this is utterly insane and I do not have the money to keep putting band aids on a problem that the dealer nor other reputable repair shops can identify. I have 3 young children (ages 6, 7, & 8) and no other vehicle. I am constantly in fear of being rear-ended because the van just shuts off. When I contacted Chrysler about a potential recall, she was unhelpful. Instead, she directed me to this website to file a formal complaint. Let me add that since I bought the vehicle, there have been 3 recalls - a/c wire (that I did experience), brakes (I had replaced and will need to be reimbursed), and the front-wheel alignment (that I now have to get serviced). This is utterly ridiculous and I am appalled that I have to endure this issue. Something needs to be done immediately!.

Unknown Or Other problem #29

Purchased a used 2010 Chrysler Town & Country March 19,2011. . On the second day March 20, 2011 with 17823 miles the car shut off while driving. At that time wasnt sure what was happening. It occurred 2 more times in the next week. Still unsure what was happening. Then on April 5 it occured again while making a right hand turn. We then realized it was actually shutting off in drive. When it happens everything shuts off (losing power steering etc) making it very difficult to pull over and restart vehicle. We took it to the dealer the next day and they were unable to duplicate the problem and there was no dtcs occuring. Left it at dealer another day and still no duplication. Have had car back for two more days with dealer and still no duplication. So at this point they are unable to do anything for us. The part that is failing we believe is the win module. It is very scary and dangerous. It appears that a recall may be coming out but not sure if it will include our vehicle. Spoke with Chrysler many times and they can not confirm that also they agreed that there is nothing they can do. Will not provide loaner or rental car because of no duplication of problem at dealers. We are very concerned and not sure what to do. Just don't drive very much.

Unknown Or Other problem #30

Sliding passenger door fails to work properly opens and closes at will. Has caught several children with out reopening upon contact. Continue to stall after recall as did before recall fix. Battery caused corrosion to eat away cables. Even when serviced like supposed to. Leather seats ripped within 2 mths of purchase was purchased brand new. Electrically gas mileage fluctuates all the time example 410 on fill up then 2 miles dn road it says 60 miles left etc. Yet Chrysler dealer claims all the time no dx on anything. Just shut completely down today as was turning ended up half in road thank god car behind paying attention and dump truck was coming also paid attention or else daughter and I could have been hurt severely. Never buy a Chrysler that's my response. Then had towed dealer said was relay switch they changed it brought me the vehicle then I went to drive out and it died again so I guess not. ## VIN passed ## 2010 Chrysler town and country ##.

Unknown Or Other problem #31

Driving the car in regular, dry, daylight, conditions in traffic at 35mph. . . Engine stops, no power brakes, no power steering, no warning lights displayed, electrical system seems operational (radio is on). Car is very hard to control with the loss of power steering/breaking and the engine can't be restarted unless the car is in park, so I have to pull over. This has happened 5 times in the past 12 months, randomly. I have taken it to the dealership twice to have this repaired, and they say they have never heard anything like it. I just did a google search and there is a recall on 2010 model year for a problem with the exact same description!!!.

Unknown Or Other problem #32

Flaw in designed or manufacturing of passenger door handle(interior) causing minor to major cuts on hand and fingers. The design of manufacturing of part is flaw and cause hazardous condition to passenger occupant. The flaw it at the seam of handle decor. The seam it located on top where the palm and figure rest. When the seam fail and peels off, it cause injuries to palm and fingures. Cut ranging from small skin cut to major open cuts.

Unknown Or Other problem #33

I am writing to complain about brake pads and rotors on Chrysler town and country minivans. I was told today, 3/4/11 that I need all new brakes (rotors and pads on my 2009 town and country minivan. ) the vehicle has 14,500 miles on it. I have researched the vehicle and found on edmunds. Com that there are numerous complaints regarding this vehicle and its brake system. I am going to replace the pads and rotors because I have 5 kids and their safety is more important than the cost . Please take this complaint seriously. Thankyou.

Unknown Or Other problem #34

February 2011 - driver side electronic passenger door ceased to function. Chrysler service dept - wire harness needs replacing, motor worn. Wire harness unavailable for 2-3 weeks. June 2011 - four months later we are still waiting for the part - nationwide back order, 5 customers at our car place were waiting too. Van door extremely difficult to open/close manually - a danger to those trying to exit/enter the vehicle quickly/in an emergency. Forces our children to enter/exit on far side of vehicle where they're not visible. Chrysler says it is not a safety issue -- we disagree. We have been told that it will be yet another month before we get our part - in the meantime the other sliding door is now having problems opening. Having a part on nation wide back order for 4+ months, with multiple people in a town having the same problem, and it being one that makes a safe and fast exit/entrance into the vehicle extremely difficult seems like a recall-able problem. We ask your assistance in gathering data in this regard so that hopefully Chrysler will be held accountable and take more expedient care of the problem.

Unknown Or Other problem #35

Noise was told that the power steering is leaking, must replace rack & pinion car has less than 80,000.

Unknown Or Other problem #36

Recalls k14, k04, k15 received three recalls on this vehicle indicating approx. 3. 5 hours to repair. Chrysler dealership told me I may loose my car for two days. I can't afford to be without a car for two days so I asked about a replacement vehicle. I was informed I would only get a replacement vehicle if I had a service contract. First there is total disconnect between what Chrysler is saying on the time to repair these defects 3 1/2 hours to 2 days quoted by the dealer. Second I should not be treated differently on being provided a replacement vehicle under a safety recall.

Unknown Or Other problem #37

We've been having continuous problem with our tires, constantly losing pressure. We thought it was a tire issue, however every time I had the tires check they could not find anything wrong. Again, we were losing pressure in a tire, I went to fill the tire and the aluminum valve stem broke in two. Fortunately, we were not moving when the stem came apart. When I went to a quick oil change I was informed that their company policy is not to touch the aluminum valve stems because so many had come apart in their employees hands.

Unknown Or Other problem #38

Purchased brand new, never owned 2010 Chrysler town and country, second day of owning vehicle noticed over sensitive obsturction detection in the driver side rear power sliding door. Have had vehicle for 4 months and problem has gotten wrose. Have come out from stores to find the door open because it had not shut properly. It attempts to close then reopens then tries to close and goes through this process about 10 times before having to manually shut door. Reserached online and see its a constant problems for others as well. Door also opened on me while pumping gas, and while I was quick enough to remove the gas before hitting, the door did hit the gas cap and shove it into the van causing a dent from the pressure of the door. .

Unknown Or Other problem #39

In April, my wife & I purchased our first Chrysler product, a new 2010 Town & Country (walter Chrysler edition). Unfortunately, driving this vehicle on a daily basis has become a safety issue for my family. On four complete random occurrences, the vehicle has completed shut down (stalled). All four times we experienced this issue was when we the driver was making a slight turn (right or left). Three times it stalled/shutdown at lower speeds. Once at 40 miles per/hour. When it stalled at a higher speed, my wife was driving on a major road way and this could have caused a major accident. I have taken the vehicle three time to our local dealership, armory Chrysler in albany, NY. Since they are unable to duplicate the problem, they have made no repairs on the vehicle. I have discussed this matter further with Chrysler representatives and to date these conversation have produced no results.

Unknown Or Other problem #40

Beginning in 2010, both rear sliding doors began malfunctioning. When opened either with the remote or inside button, they begin to open and when most of the way open, close on its own. It started out doing it infrequently, about once every 50 times the door was opened. Over the last year it has become more frequent, doing it about once every few days or so. Once in 2010, my 3 year old daughter was getting out and the door malfunctioned and caught her in between, causing a bruise on her face. For some reason the door did not "bounce back" when it made contact with her, but thankfully I was standing there and was able to manually force the door back open. This year, the door again malfunctioned and almost caught my 8 yr old, but he managed to get out of the way. I have taken it to the dealer twice for this and both times they told me it is functioning fine. The first time I picked it up from the dealer I tested the door. I opened and shut it about 15 times and it malfunctioned. I went inside to get the repair tech to show him and when it didn't happen again he told me there was nothing he could do. When I brought the van in again to have them look at it the second time, they again told me it was functioning fine and that since my van needed a new battery that they thought the battery was the problem. The door did it again that night and again after that three days later. I contacted them twice about it again, asking them if I video taped it if they would believe me and figure out what was wrong. They told me it wouldn't matter and that they would need to keep it until they saw it. They had my van this last time for 5 days! I had to pay $217 for a rental because they didn't find anything. This is dangerous! I have four children getting in and out everyday. I don't have the money for rentals for an unspecified amount of time, but this is dangerous and needs to get fixed!.

Unknown Or Other problem #41

Owner of a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country touring Mini van. Presently vehicle has just under 25,000 miles and brakes are completely shot and squealing. Not sure that I should continue to drive in this condition. Expected repair costs are around $300-400. Service center is telling me that many Chrysler t&c vans are experiencing same problem. Rotors are undersized for vehicle and experience premature wear and failure.

Unknown Or Other problem #42

Instrument cluster circuit board faulty, causes cluster failure, engine cut-outs and electrical issues throughout car modules. Possible fire due to faulty solder joints on circuit board, wiring overheating. Multiple parties have been reporting this issue for years, see edmunds. Com.

Unknown Or Other problem #43

Clockspring has failed twice and replaced twice and is failing again now. Air bag, horn, cruise control and other components fail when clockspring fails. I feel this could be a potential life threatening situation if air bag fails in an accident because of clockspring failure.

Unknown Or Other problem #44

Car have proble electrical,it do not keep runing,it shot of, it blow out all flue, the car have very problems concern electric and other issue I do not know.

Unknown Or Other problem #45

I am on my third power window cable and motor. All three on the passenger side.

Unknown Or Other problem #46

I was driving on the h-1 freeway in honolulu, Friday afternoon about 1:20 and my 2008 Chrysler town and country lost power actually the engine turned off. I was in a middle lane and traffic was not good. I almost caused a crash because I wasn't prepared for my power steering to go out just before a curve. Thankfully, I was able to stop safely. I called a local dealer, and they could get to it eventually.

Unknown Or Other problem #47

I wrote a few weeks ago about the doors on my 2008 Town & Country that the opened on there own and then would not always respond to the remote. Chrysler has updated the computer in my van. Recently I had more problems of the doors not responding so the van went back to the dealership for that and a new radio with wiring from the radio to the antenna, had to have the seats on the middle row reupholstered and because of heat coming out from under the dashboard. Which is the other reason I am writing. They can not find the problem and it is not all the time but there is a tremendous amount of heat that comes out. Because of this problem with the heat coming out and still a problem with the doors I feel that my Chrysler Town & Country is really unsafe.

Unknown Or Other problem #48

I have had my van for a little over 3 years and have already had to replace the front brakes on it twice and the rear brakes once. Both times the rotors and brake pads had to be replaced. I have had to replace all 4 tires as well, and that was only at a little over 40,000 miles. I have had to replace the battery, and I am now fixing the a/c & heating system for the third time. And every time I check the mail I receive another recall notice! and all the issues "could cause a fire". In addition, my rear automatic doors do not always close, I have to manually close them or they come back open. I have been paged out of a store for my back doors being open, after I watched them begin to close. I also have problems with the radio freezing.

The power window motors on both front doors and lift mechanisms went bad within a month of each other. Resulted in a 500 repair. Only a few weeks later the genuine Chrysler parts went bad on one of the windows and had to be replaced again resulting in free repair but having to deal with it again was ridiculous. Lemon.

Under body spare tire cable system. The van had a flat tire, I let the tire down and replaced it. Went to return cable and tire holder back up and it would not crank up all the way, there by leaving the spare tire holder still hanging down almost touching the ground. I tied it up to keep from hanging down and took the van in to have the tire fixed, tire shop tired to put spare tire , it would not go up all the way that time either. I then called the dealership and they stated it was stripped and that it was a poor design by Chrysler and they had replaced others too. Stated that it was not covered under warranty and we had to pay @$144. 61 to have it replaced. The item is called a spare tire lock winch assembly.

Veh. Has been in shop since new 19 times. Hood misaligned, doors misaligned, tack stop working, horn stop working, sides sliding doors dragging, steering column loose, air compressor replaced twice, belt continues to jump off veh. Which has almost caused the operator of the veh. To t-bone another veh. On a right turn from an intersection. Chrysler seems not to care until someone is either seriously hurt or killed. Make: Chrysler Town & Country VIN:1c4gt64l9vb218656 all-wheel all the time drive vehicle. Well maintained by the owner at the dealership, the following problems have arisen. It was taken off the road last Friday,December 15, 2000. Symptoms: somewhat of a crunching noise when turning left or right. Difficult to steer at low speed. Some thumping heard - progressively faster until vehicle was up to road speed. Repair history: dealer maintained vehicle. Dealer had repaired it before and in fact had replaced bolts on the transfer case yet never made any statement about any damage to the transmission. Dealer & visual observation reveal:the dealer rep told me that it must be from abuse. We saw the front frame struts - in perfect shape - and the damage is all up above it. The transfer mechanism appears to be eating the case from the inside. The drive shaft was whipping against the body strut and actually "carving" through it just by the rotations. Transfer case, which is metal, had shattered from bolt to bolt on all visible sides. The front of the case was sheared to the degree that it was hanging there not doing much of anything - the back of the housing would shift to about a 30 30 degree cant to the rear if the drive shaft was physically lifted by hand (hence the whipping "like a jump rope") and would touch the upper body parts. There was no sign of abuse of any sort or any reason to have this happen during normal wear. This surely could have caused a very serious accident. The entire trans-axle housing was shattered on all visible sides and the bolts had sheared allowing the drive train to bounce against the chassis housing. Two bolts were found on the front cross-struts, most bolts were missing several in a backed-out position. Left tie rod ws very loose. The floor manager looked at and said that this sort of thing should never happen and again agreed that there was probably some internal problem in the drive that was causing the housing to disintegrate. Help!!! the.

This is the second time this part has failed. The previous failure was in January 1999 according to the service writer and the dealership. The service writer tells me I must pay for the time for repairs and I feel this cost should be absorbed by the manufacture. Thank you for your time. James w. Roberts. Does not mention any safety defects.

This is a recall for cars made prior to September, 1996. We receivedour car on 9/1/96, so it would seem that our car qualifies. Since the car now is exhibiting the signs shown in the recall notice (#665), it makes sense that our car also has this defect. The manufacturer says that this is not the case. No safety defec tmentioned in summary.
