Chrysler Voyager owners have reported 23 problems related to electrical system (under the electrical system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Chrysler Voyager based on all problems reported for the Voyager.
After going through rapid acceleration, van will experience electrical issue which does not allow for acceleration and triggers auto stop to fail. The electrical issue prevents the van from accelerating while in motion on a highway. This issue has persisted every year, despite replacing both the main and auxiliary batteries. Both batteries have failed within a year and recently after a week of being replaced.

We purchased this vehicle from a dealership in July 2024. The vehicle is only 2 years old and we have taken it to the dealership for repairs on multiple issues within the electrical components two times in one week. The first issue was the lift gate mechanism was failing which drained both of our batteries and the second issue was the horn failed. The horn is a major safety concern. Not to mention the fact that the horn parts are on back order, most likely due to many other malfunctioning horns in the Chrysler Voyager. There were no warnings about when our horn actually started malfunctioning or anything until we tried to use it while driving and it failed to work. Again, I’m concerned as to why this particular issue has yet to be recalled considering the dealership stated that the mechanism is an electrical issue within the mother board of the vehicle. I’m also concerned as to why this mechanism would fail in just a two year old vehicle. I’ve never had a vehicles horn go out ever in my ownership of cars. This particular situation in my opinion needs to have an official recall as well as reimbursement for the failed mechanisms.

I was turning left into a parking lot when my 2020 Voyager steering stopped working while it started to show all warning lights and the wipers went on, then it went dead, had to be towed on a flatbed to the dealership, and after 4 weeks with no solution in sight, I decided to bring it home and research the solution myself, the problem came from the can bus connector located above the glove box, any short or voltage fluctuation from the wires out of the can bus causes the car to go into panic mode, sometimes making the steering wheel stop steering, and the engine to turn off, most of the times it renders the vehicle disabled. One of the connectors goes into the steering module attached to the electric steering column under the car, the pair of wires near the steering module was fused and exposed, touching each other, and the poor wire insulation, proximity of the engine exhaust pipe, and other hot components coupled with an excessive tight cable zip tie caused the damaged to the wire. Chrysler needs to replace wiring coming from the can bus connectors as damages to any of the wires cause wide failure of vital car components while driving. Case and point, a major safety issue with the Chrysler Voyager 2020 and possibly pacifica 2020 as my steering wheel stopped working while making a left turn that could have caused a crash with incoming traffic. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Chrysler dealer, but after 4 weeks they were unable to find and fix the issue, they replaced the auxiliary battery and were trying to replace the rfh module by did not fix it, that's when I decided to remove the car and inspect it my self.

Takata recall I own a 2002 Chrysler Voyager minivan. At about 85,000 miles I noticed the airbag light on the dashboard was coming on sporadically. Eventually it started remaining on all the time from the moment I started the ignition. I took it to a local Chrysler dealer to have it inspected. They told me there was a problem with the clock spring and that it needed to be replaced and would cost me about $350. Earlier reproductions of this model have been recalled for problems with clock springs but mine is not because it was manufactured two years too late.

Headlights flicker while driving or stopped. Vehicle has new altanator. Dash lights, headlights dim on braking.
I was driving down the road with my two children and my car stalled. Completely shut down, and I called my husband took the van to the dealership and they ran test on the computer and they said we needed a new pcm so we bought one and guess what it still does not work 6 months later. We took it to a mechanic near by and he said he thinks its the fuel pump but as much money as we have already spent I am scared to buy something else for this van and it not work. If you crank the car up you can only drive about 15 minutes and it will cut off for several hours and then you can drive again for another 15 minutes.

While driving 2001 Chrysler Voyager rpms dropped to zero, van suddenly stalls out. No brakes or steering. Will not start up. Already had this happen once, and mechanic replaced fuel filter and fuel pump. Ran for one month, and it happened again. Towed it to same mechanic, started up after couple tries. Stalled out again. Very scary since I have 3 children, 2 under two years old. Cannot afford new vehicle, but also cannot afford monthly visit to mechanic. Searched several websites and found this a common problem, I cannot believe this has not been investigated yet! from what I'm finding, no mechanic has been able to thoroughly fix this recurrent problem.
My van was operating and serviced as normal. Suddenly one day there was a squealing noise nad the air conditioning would not work. I took it to park Jeep/Chrysler in burnsville, mn (952-808-2442) and was informed by kevin the service tech that the compresser had failed and that the repair would be over $700. 00. I have not authorized the repair yet, but I seem to have no choice. He told me that even though there was a service bulletin, it would not be covered.

While driving at night, the headlights shut off for a short period of time and then came back on. This continued to happen while driving. The dealer made repairs to the electrical control module . The dealer was unable to duplicate the problem.
While driving 60 mph on the highway vehicle wouldn't shift and suddenly decelerated. Vehicle was taken to the dealer, who stated that problem could be in the engine or the computer, but was not able to determine the problem.
