1 Brake power assist vacuum defect investigations of BMW Z4 vehicles

This investigation was opened on Sep. 6, 2013. It was closed on Oct. 25, 2013. This investigation resulted in a vehicle safety recall.
In a letter dated September 26, 2013, BMW group submitted a safety recall notice to NHTSA identifying a defect condition in the vacuum pump oil supply that may result in loss of power assist braking in 76,191 model year (my) 2012 through 2014 BMW 3-series, 5-series, x1 sav, x3 sav, and z4 vehicles

2 Steering defect investigations of BMW Z4 vehicles

This investigation was opened on Jun. 28, 2010. It was closed on Jun. 28, 2011. Odi has evaluated the sticky steering condition, which included reviews of complaints and warranty claims, interviews and surveys of owners of complaint vehicles, road tests of complaint vehicles, and a review of BMW's engineering and test data.

3 Air bags frontal sensor/control module defect investigations of BMW Z4 vehicles

This investigation was opened on Jan. 4, 2008. It was closed on Dec. 31, 2008. This investigation resulted in a vehicle safety recall.
BMW is conducting a safety recall campaign on approximately 200,000 my04 through my06 subject vehicles built through 11/30/05 to correct the front passenger seat air bag occupant detection mat. The specific vehicles included in the recall aremy04- 06/ 5-series with standard and sport seats,
