The agency opened this investigation based on 30 complaints alleging that the hoods on model year (my) 2000 and 2001 Dodge ram pickup trucks flew up and blocked the driver's vision. These vehicles have a primary hood latch and a secondary (backup) hood latch.

A column mounted shift lever is used for gear selection and an electronic prndl on the instrument panel provides gear position information to the driver. Odi has identified 30 incidents where it is alleged the seat back collapsed in a rear impact crash. These incidents are alleged to have contributed to 23 injuries and two deaths. The data presented to odi show that the seat back strength of the front seats comply with federal motor vehicle safety
