9 Engine and engine cooling defect investigations of Ford Contour vehicles

This investigation was opened on Aug. 18, 1999. It was closed on Feb. 23, 2000. Odi has received six reports involving 1995 Ford contour and Mercury mystique vehicles that allege the engine electronic cooling fan failed. Four of the reports indicate the fan caught on fire with resultant damage to the fan and wire harness and/or the harness connector.
