2 Rear suspension axle non-powered axle assembly defect investigations of Ford Windstar vehicles
This investigation was opened on Dec. 15, 2010. It was closed on Dec. 21, 2010. On November 5, 2010, NHTSA received a defect petition from the owner of a my 2003 Ford windstar vehicle registered in the state of new york requesting that the scope of recall 10v-385 be expanded to include additional my 2003 vehicles experiencing the defect condition.

7 Seat belts defect investigations of Ford Windstar vehicles
This investigation was opened on Feb. 17, 2005. It was closed on Jul. 6, 2005. During the initial recall campaign in 2001, the subject vehicles were inspected by Ford dealerships using a test tool that would detect a defective front seat outboard seat belt buckle assembly. Approximately one million vehicles passed the inspection test for one or both front buckles.

Alleged one or both of the two bolts that hold the front brake caliper anchor plate to the wheel spindle can loosen and fall out. If the upper of these two bolts falls out, the caliper can pivot outward and cantact the inside of the wheel rim resulting in wheel lockup.
