The subject vehicles are model year (my) 2002-2009 Chevrolet trailblazer, GMC envoy, 2004-2007 Buick rainier, 2003-2008 isuzu ascender, 2005-2009 SAAB 9-7x, 2002-2004 Oldsmobile bravada, 2003-2006 Chevrolet ssr, 2005-2009 Buick lacrosse, and 2006-2008 pontiac grand prix.

2 Electrical system defect investigations of GMC Envoy vehicles

This investigation was opened on Jun. 11, 2012. It was closed on Jun. 21, 2013. This investigation resulted in a vehicle safety recall.

3 Fuel gauge system defect investigations of GMC Envoy vehicles

This investigation was opened on Apr. 25, 2011. It was closed on Sep. 23, 2011. The office of defects investigations (odi) analyzed complaint data provided by general motors (gm) as well as complaints submitted to odi from consumers. In total, there were 5,089 unique reports indicating an inaccurate fuel level reading while driving.

4 Fuel system defect investigations of GMC Envoy vehicles

This investigation was opened on Jan. 7, 2010. It was closed on May. 23, 2011. The office of defects investigation has received 668 complaints alleging inaccurate fuel gauge reading while driving in model year 2005-07 Chevrolet trailblazer, GMC envoy, Buick rainier, and SAAB 9-7x vehicles. Of the 668 complaints, 58 incidents were alleged to result in a vehicle stall.

5 Hazard flashing warning lights unit defect investigations of GMC Envoy vehicles

This investigation was opened on Feb. 28, 2008. It was closed on Jul. 9, 2008. This investigation resulted in a vehicle safety recall.
On November 30, 2001, general motors (gm) conducted safety recall 01v-364 for the subject vehicles built between September 16, 1999 and August 28, 2001 to remedy a defective hazard switch that would cause a loss of hazard and stop lamp illumination.

This investigation was opened on Jul. 10, 2007. It was closed on Aug. 28, 2008. During the course of this ea investigation, odi observed that the majority of the complaints (88%) and warranty claims (94%) were reported for vehicles that are registered for use in the "salt belt" region of the us.

8 Fuel pump defect investigations of GMC Envoy vehicles

This investigation was opened on Mar. 12, 2007. It was closed on Jul. 10, 2007. Odi has received reports that the fuel pump module leaks fuel and or vapor underneath the vehicle. Gm states, "the failure mechanism is corrosion of the fuel pump module flange which may lead to a fuel leak.

This investigation was opened on Feb. 4, 2005. It was closed on May. 6, 2005. This investigation resulted in a vehicle safety recall.
By letter dated April 29, 2005, gm notified the agency that it is conducting asafety recall ( NHTSA recall no. 05v198 ) involving certain model years (my) 2003-2004 isuzu ascender, Chevrolet trailblazer, GMC envoy, Oldsmobile bravada and my 2004 Buick rainer vehicles.

10 Brake lights defect investigations of GMC Envoy vehicles

This investigation was opened on Aug. 3, 2004. It was closed on Nov. 4, 2004. This investigation resulted in a vehicle safety recall.
Gm states that some brake/tail lamp bulbs can prematurely become inoperative due to malfunctioning brake/tail lamp sockets. On March 2, 2004, gm initiated a 6-year/72,000 mile "special policy" for 989,487 subject vehicles to inspect and replace the rear brake/tail lamp bulb socket assemblies.

These vehicles share the same vehicle platform (gm 360/370) and fuel fill components.

14 Engine and engine cooling defect investigations of GMC Envoy vehicles

This investigation was opened on May. 6, 2003. It was closed on Jun. 18, 2004. This investigation resulted in a vehicle safety recall.
Model year (my) 2002 bravada and certain my 2002 envoy vehicles with optional electronically controlled air suspension (ecas) may be subject to engine stall caused by an errant voltage spike transmitted to the powertrain control module (pcm).

15 Engine and engine cooling defect investigations of GMC Envoy vehicles

This investigation was opened on Jan. 3, 2003. It was closed on May. 6, 2003. Of the 697 total complaints, 240 were received for theenvoy and 457 for the bravada. Gm has identified about 5,000 warranty claims related to stalling in the subject vehicles. Gm reports that a transient voltage spike generated in the ecas degrades the performance of the pcm resulting in engine stall.
