Odi became aware of three bus fires that originated in the area of the transmission on the subject vehicles through media reports. Inspection of the vehicles indicated that the static parking brake, which is located behind the transmission, may have been applied as a result of an air leak while the

2 Service brakes, hydraulic defect investigations of International 3200 vehicles

This investigation was opened on Dec. 3, 2002. It was closed on Feb. 10, 2004. This investigation resulted in a vehicle safety recall.
This investigation focused on International medium duty trucksand school bus chassis weighing up to 33,000 pounds, equipped with hydraulic brakes and built with the bosch zero offset pin slide (zops)brake system calipers. International used the zops calipers from April 1997 through June 2002.
