1 Front suspension spring assembly defect investigations of International 4300 vehicles

This investigation was opened on Sep. 17, 2008. It was closed on Jan. 13, 2009. Odi opened this investigation in September 2008, based on 18 warranty claims of fractured front leaf springs. At 2008 year-end, International truck and engine (ite) has advised odi that an additional 11 warranty claims have been reported to date (total 29).

2 Steering gear box shaft pitman defect investigations of International 4300 vehicles

This investigation was opened on Jun. 9, 2003. It was closed on Oct. 7, 2003. International has received no other owner reports of failures other than the event forwarded by odi. After further review of the crash,it was determined that the driver ran over a largemetal object in the road that struck the pitman arm.

3 Service brakes, hydraulic defect investigations of International 4300 vehicles

This investigation was opened on Dec. 3, 2002. It was closed on Feb. 10, 2004. This investigation resulted in a vehicle safety recall.
This investigation focused on International medium duty trucksand school bus chassis weighing up to 33,000 pounds, equipped with hydraulic brakes and built with the bosch zero offset pin slide (zops)brake system calipers. International used the zops calipers from April 1997 through June 2002.
