Vehicle description: passenger vehicles. Under certain conditions, the seat belt retractor can deform and cause complete or frequent locking of the retractor. As a result, the seat belts cannot be pulled out of the retractor and cannot be used.

Dealers will replace the seat belt actuator assembly.

Owner notification is expected to begin during October 2000. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Honda at 1-800-999-1009. Also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
