Recall Summary:
Vehicle description: heavy duty trucks. The vehicles involved in this recall were built for export with manual slack adjusters and were sold in the us. These vehicles need to have automatic slack adjusters in order to comply with the requirements of fmvss 121, "air brake systems. "
How to Fix:
Dealers will replace the manual slack adjusters will automatic slack adjusters.
Recall Notes:
Owner notification is expected to begin during December 2000. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact International at 1-800-448-7825.
