On certain fire trucks equipped with harrison hydra-gen generator pumps, the tubing connecting the soft start to the generator pump can break away from the fitting and spray hydraulic fluid onto the exhaust.

icon2 How to Fix:

Harrison hydra-gen notified owners on January 15, 2003. Dealers will remove two pieces of steel tubing and replace them with a high pressure hose. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy with a reasonable time should contact harrison hydra-gen at 1-800-723-3334 or american lafrance/freightliner at 1-800-385-4357.
