Mci is recalling certain model year 2011 mci j4500 motor coaches manufactured from December 1, 2010 through February 28, 2011, and equipped with arvinmeritor mc16 and mc16 type tag axle assemblies. The bolts used to connect the axle housing to the spindle of the axle may not have been properly heat treated, resulting in potentially compromised hardness and strength that, in turn, could lead to reduced joint integrity.

Arvinmeritor is working with mci to identify and notify owners and repairs will be performed free of charge. The safety recall began on April 14, 2011. Owners may contact arvinmeritor at 1-248-435-1725 or mci customer service at 1-800-241-2947.
