On the involved vehicles the electrical wiring harness leading to the starter and back-up light switch may have been improperly routed. The harness may chafe against the front engine shrouding eventually resulting in insulation damage, which can create an electrical short.

icon2 How to Fix:

The dealer will inspect and, if necessary, reroute the harness and secure it with a strap. If damaged, the harness will be replaced.
