Front shock absorbers on some vehicles may have improperly welded mounting eyes. The shock absorber mounting could separate and cause the suspension to collapse if vehicle is driven on rough roads for a long period of time.

icon2 How to Fix:

The front shock absorbers on all involved vehicles will be checked and, if necessary, replaced without charge.

Vehicle description: passenger vehicles. System: suspension; front shock absorbers. Consequences of defect: suspension collapse could cause sudden steeringfailure. Failure of one shock absorber is not enough to cause completesuspension collapse but can have detrimental effects on steering and handling. In either case, driver may lose control of vehicle and an accident may result.
