The involved trucks were manufactured with a certain portion of specified floor pan insulation material (beneath the right front passenger seat) omitted. Because of this omission, a section of the sheet metal floor pan was left exposed over the exhaust system in an area of possible passenger contact.
The dealer will install a revised design floorpan insulator pad at no charge to owner.
Vehicle description: light trucks equipped with rubber floor mat assemblies. System: structure; floor pan insulation. Consequences of defect: under certain driving conditions, the sheet metal couldreach abnormal temperatures which could potentially cause personal injury. Note: the owner is advised to avoid extended periods of idling before thedefect is corrected. The temperatures could also become hot enough to damagematerials placed under the seat.
