The involved trucks do not comply with federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 209, "seat belt assemblies", in that the first purchaser usage and maintenance instructions for the seat belt assembly was omitted from the operator"s manual which came with the vehicle.

The dealer will include the missing information with the notification letter.

Consequences of defect: improper use and care of the seat belt system due tothe omission of these instructions may result in a degradation of the system"seffectiveness in providing passenger protection in the event of an accident.
