Vacuum lines that help in the operation of the power braking system may collapse under vacuum pressure. Vehicle does not comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 106, "brake hoses", since vacuum lines contain material which is not certified for their application.

Dealer will replace hose with one that complies with the safety standard.

Vehicle description: light and medium trucks (vans). System: service brakes; power assist vacuum line. Consequences of defect: braking effectiveness would be degraded without thecorrect degree of vacuum in the power assist assembly. An accident couldresult, particularly in situations where minimum braking distance is required.
