The distance between the fuel cock and carburetor may be insufficient to allow proper clearance for the outlet fuel line causing it to chafe. Consequence of defect: continued chafing could cause the fuel line to fail, allowing gasoline to leak which may result in a fire if a source of ignition is present.

Install modified fuel cock that allows additional fuel hose clearance.
