The loose mounting bolts may allow the steering rack toshift which would result in a non-centered steering wheel, less precisesteering control, and damage to the steering rack.

One or more of the bolts mounting the steering rack to the chassis of the vehicle may have been stretched, due to over torquing in the manufacturing process, causing some of the bolts to loosen.

Replace the steering rack bolts with bolts of a higher strength; replace the steering rack if it is damaged.
