The rear engine compartment cover near the cruise control servo motor slips, causing the safety clip in the servo motor arm to bind due to insufficient clearance. If the cruise control cable binds, the engine does not return to idle when the cruise control function is disengaged, resulting in the vehicle speed not being reduced as expected.

icon2 How to Fix:

Install a bolt and washer on the rear engine compartment cover to prevent slipping and to insure the necessary clearance between the safety clip and the cover.
