Insufficient torque can lead to a broken strap. If the strap breaks, the driveshaft would wobble, possibly resulting in separation. Such wobbling or separation would result in damage to other components of the vehicle and any loose fragment could fall to the roadway presenting a hazard to following vehicles.

The u-joint bearing strap bolts were not properly tightened during assembly.

Dealers will install a new u-joint bearing strap bolts.

Owner notification began February 21, 1997. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact mack at 1-610-709-3011.
