Vehicle description: travel and folding trailers equipped with dexter axles. The wheel bearings used in some of these axles have a metallurgical defect causing early failure.

icon2 How to Fix:

Dexter axle is conducting the notification and remedy for this recall. Dealers will inspect the axles and replace the wheel bearings if necessary.

icon4 Recall Notes:

Owner notification began during December 1997. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact dexter axle at 1-800-400-2164. Also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-800-424-9393.
