Vehicle description: motorcycles. The primary driven gear backing plate (clutch basket) can break causing the engine components to lock up.

Dealers will install a new primary driven gear and related parts.

Owner notification is expected to begin October 2, 1998. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact yamaha at 1-800-962-7926.
