Vehicle description: school bus chassis. The instrument panel wiring harness can contact the brake pedal mounting bracket. Over time, the harness would abrade on the bracket resulting in electrical shorting.

Dealers will reroute the wiring harness and repair any wires that have been abraded.

Owner notification began February 8, 1999. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Chevrolet at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC at 1-800-462-8782.
