Vehicle description: passenger vehicles. The steering wheel can come loose from the steering shaft because the steering wheel retaining nut could have been improperly tightened.

Dealers will inspect the steering wheel retaining nut for correct tightness and tighten if necessary.

Owner notification began December 23, 1998. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Oldsmobile at 1-800-442-6537 or pontiac at 1-800-762-2737.
