| Investigations Summary: | This investigation was opened on Nov. 8, 1999. It was closed on Jul. 21, 2000. Complaints have been received from six owners of the subject vehicles, reporting incidents in which the steering column lock module malfunctioned. Such failures may potentially cause the steering column/wheel to lock in a fixed position with a loss of vehicle steering control while the vehicle is in motion. A preliminary evaluation has been opened on this issue. |
