Investigations Summary: This investigation was opened on May. 11, 1999. It was closed on Nov. 27, 2001. Note: this investigation has resulted in a vehicle safety recall.
These vehicles may have lower than specified torque on the three steering gear to frame attachment bolts. These bolts may loosen causing unresponsive steering and eventually the bolts may back out or fracture, resulting in loss of steering control
