Brake Electric Antilock problems of the 1996 Dodge Avenger

Five problems related to brake electric antilock have been reported for the 1996 Dodge Avenger. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Brake Electric Antilock problem

Failure Date: 01/01/1999

Abs module assembly failed at 30,000 miles and 6 months out of warranty. $1300. 00 to repair. I seriously doubt anyone (including me) will pay to fix. Abs will remain disabled.

2 Brake Electric Antilock problem

Failure Date: 08/08/1997

Driving at different speeds, brakes will pulsate, feels as though it will not stop. Slowly defect is getting worse. Dealer resurfaced rotors/changed and cleaned rotors four times, still cannot find problem.

3 Brake Electric Antilock problem

Failure Date: 03/05/1997

While driving vehicle, when applying the brakes, would notice severe vibrations. Happens at various speeds. Took it to dealer to replace the brakes, was informed there was too much stopping & going.

4 Brake Electric Antilock problem

Multiple brake malfunctions.

5 Brake Electric Antilock problem

When appling the brakes the vehicle vibrates. The rotors have been replaced six times. Everytime the prolem is remedied for a month, and the problem reoccurs.
