Three problems related to front suspension upper arm have been reported for the 1996 Dodge Avenger. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
When pulling into driveway upper right control arm mount separated from body, making an enormous popping sound. Dealer stated if driven more wheels could have collapsed.
When driving the vehicle, parked, then noticed the upper control arm on the front right side of the vehicle snapped, could have caused the wheel to fall off. Dealer contacted and was not aware of the problem. Unable to duplicate the problem.
Right upper control arm bracket separated from the strut tower.
