Car has problems picking up speed when pushing pedal it slowly picks up speed, when the car is in motion and I push on brakes or I am backing out of parking space car shuts off. Also sometimes while car is running I notice it won't go over a certain speed it jus won't allow me to do over 50 mph and car starts to over heat but normally I pull over turn the car off and start it back up and it drives normal again , until the car is turned off again it mysteriously just happens again whenever it decides.
While driving the car will stall out; I was driving on 3 lane highway going about 70 mph and was barely able to get it off to the side due to no power steering. Another time I was at a stop light and when light turned green and I pressed on accelerator the car stalled and a trash truck nearly ran into the rear of the vehicle. After the vehicle sits for a few minutes it will restart; then fail again. Repeat procedures and it will run a while longer. This has been happening for the last 4 days at least 3-4 times daily.
My car's engine stalls and shuts off while in the middle of acceleration or even while at idle. The dealership cannot find any issues as to why it would stop running and I am extremely afraid to drive the car for fear I will have an accident. When the engine stalls, the power steering stops working and it is hard to steer the car to a safe spot.
I replaced my car with new brakes last year and I am already having to replace them again. Also, it keeps dying out. I seen on here there was a recall with the electrical system. I think the issue is still at hand. I've spent money on trying to figure out what is wrong with my car and the mechanics here in my area cannot figure it out. This car has so many issues especially due to electrical issues. Also, my car will jerk sometimes when I am at a stop light. I can't figure out what is wrong with it. I am thinking of getting another car because there is so many issues with this one.
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Avenger. While driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle decelerated without warning. The contact pulled to the side of the road, turned off, and restarted the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure recurred while in traffic. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the electronic throttle assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic for an estimate. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 mph, the etc warning indicator illuminated and then the vehicle started to slow down to approximately 5 mph. The contact had to maneuver to the side of the road because the vehicle would not accelerate. The vehicle was restarted and there was no acceleration. The vehicle was driven to an independent mechanic and the diagnosis was that the etc was damaged and needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 182,000.

The car continues to accelerate when you remove your foot from the gas pedal. This is an intermittent problem. Car has been to the dealership 4 times for the same issue. Repair technicians have been unable to duplicate the issue.
The car has a tremendous delay when you press the gas pedal from any speed. This has almost caused me a few accidents already when crossing intersections that have no traffic signals. The vehicle finally reacts after a second or two of having pressed the gas pedal but the pedal is pressed so far by me already that it ends up accelerating incredibly abruptly that is also dangerous. Seems to be a computer issue because the horn also has the same 1-2 second delay before it finally beeps after you press the horn pad on the steering wheel. Also when you go to turn the car on it suffers from a 1-2 second delay before the starter begins to crank the engine over. Its like the computer is soooo slow to react to commands by the driver and this is dangerous when it affects the gas pedal acceleration reaction time and the horn pad reaction time. Please address this since I own this vehicle and will end up selling it if the dealer cant repair this excessive computer reaction issue. When I spoke to a dealer about this they said it was normal to have this long reaction time and it was done by Chrysler for "safety reasons" which made no sense to me that taking away driver control over acceleration is advantageous or "safe" in any way, shape or form. . It has created and put me in dangerous situations already since I don't feel I have control of the acceleration of the car since it does not accelerate immediately when you press the gas pedal. The same applies to the horn delay after you hit the horn pad on the steering wheel, what "safety reason" could that justify this car has to get these issues resolved to prevent future accidents due to these problems. Please look into these complaints.
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that the vehicle was driving at idle speeds when there was an increase in engine rpms and the vehicle acceleration increased. The failure was resolved temporarily when the engine was restarted. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer and the manufacturer was not contact. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 640 and the current mileage was 1010.
