Beginning in September 2023, my parking brake light would periodically light up even when the parking brake was not engaged. At the time, I didn't think much of it. This persisted until the middle of January 2024. Beginning in mid January 2024, my parking brake light, traction control light, and abs light were all lit up on my dashboard. I took my vehicle into my mechanic on January 30, 2024 and they diagnosed it as an abs internal module failure. They said they were unable to make the repair and said that I would need to take it into a Dodge dealership. I then took it to my local Dodge dealership on February 2, 2024 and they also diagnosed the problem as an abs internal module failure. The dealership told me that the particular module needed was under "engineer review" at Chrysler. They said that any abs module currently on the market for my vehicle were considered "defective" and that I would need to wait for the engineer review to be completed in order to receive a new, correctly working abs module. I was told by both my regular mechanic, as well as the dealership, that my car was dangerous to drive in its current condition. I was told by both the dealership and a Dodge customer service representative that this engineer review would be completed in April 2024. It is now June 10, 2024 and the review still has not been completed and I am still without a working abs module for my vehicle. I am unwilling to put my safety, my child's safety, and the safety of other drivers at risk by continuing to drive a dangerous vehicle. Because of this, I have not been able to drive my vehicle since the beginning of February. After continuous calls and emails to Dodge, I was told the review would be completed between 4/20/24-4/25/24. I later found out this estimated completion date was incorrect. I have been given no new timeline of when this engineer review is to be completed and when I will be receiving a new part.
My husband a I were driving down the highway and all of a sudden a loud sound a bam the air bag in the passenger seat blew open and dang near gave my husband whiplash. Also I have had the thermostat replaced 3 times in 2 years and the car is still overheating. The abs sensor will not go off and its like the emergency brake is stuck. I can be driving and when I try to stop it is like its locking up.
Car started running hot no lights on. Fan stopped working. Also replace break parts and still a break problem. Then air bag has a recall found out at dealer ship after purchase and they refused to fix. I was driving when vehicle ran hot now stuck on side of road.
Engine shut off while driving brakes locked steering locked vehicle no start.
Went to the dealership on 12/19/2019 for two recalls on my car. The repair was stated that it would take 2-3 hours but took 5 hours. The next day the car started backing up out of the drive way on its on and now it does not start. Called the dealership to tell them the problem and they stated that I have to find a way to bring the car there and pay for the repair myself. My car was fine before they worked on it.
I purchase the car, and the dealership California direct motors failed to inform me of the safety recall, and its still an un going problem, I have not received my plates / registration. So legally I'm not the owner until this get cleared. I'm afraid to drive the car. Please help me.
When the electronic stability control malfunction indicator light comes on, my car starts shaking violently, not responding as quickly to pressing gas pedal, jerking, slow excelleration, bogging down when I reach 50 and the feeling of my brakes applying themselves my room gauge sometimes rocks back and forth before and after the gear shift. . . A weird smell and heat coming from under the car even tho it's not reading a higher temp. . . I've changed the cps twice and the code will not clear. . . P0340. . . This happens all the time but it's random and happens even while I'm driving. . . Or when the car is running for a few minutes in park. . . Random. . . While the episode is happening sometimes I hear this fast paced tapping and "movement" behind my dash & steering wheel. . . I've tried everything I can to solve this problem and now I find out my car has recalls. . . My car dealership never informed me it was on a recall list. . . Please help before something bad happens as I'm driving. . . I feel like this issue could potentially cause my car to shut down or something could blow up. . . I just don't know what else to do and I don't want to accidentally hurt someone or myself if I potentially lose control of the vehicle or the brakes completely stop me without me applying them & I wreck or stall going down the highway or interstate. . . Very concerned and worried about what to do next. . . When this isn't happening to the car it behaves & drives perfect. . . It seems possessed or is having a seizure.
Window goes down but will notcome back up. Motor is either blown , regulator needs to be replaced or switchs gone bad. I fixed this before and it happened again. Should not have to replace again. August 27, 2019 at 1:00am.
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Avenger. While the contact's sister was driving 55 mph, she depressed the brake pedal, but it failed to stop the vehicle. As a result, the driver crashed into another vehicle on the front driver's side. Both the driver and passenger air bags deployed. The driver sustained a brain aneurysm and had trouble breathing. Medical attention was required. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not drivable and was towed to ken garff west valley Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram fiat (located at 4175 w 3500 s, west valley city, ut 84120, (844) 353-7052). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 86,000.
The airbag light keeps going on and off. A few times I would undo my seatbelt and then secure it again and it would go off. But it comes back on again. Brakes: I have had all 4 brakes replaced and my brakes still squeak and they grind. Ive had this done twice and it does not fix the issue. It makes a rattling sound when going uphill. And squeeks and grinds when coming to a stop. This has been going on for months.
My vehicle stalled, started shaking, shut down and lost power while driving. The following three warning lights came on; 1) malfunction indicator light (mil); 2) electronic throttle control (etc); and 3) electronic stability control (esc). I have noticed that the car seems to stall when I put it in drive and take off is slow. It takes me several blocks to just reach 30 mph. The car also feels as if it is lunging but resumes a slow pace. Take off is extremely slow when I stop for traffic lights. The engine seems to lose pressure. The car will rev and accelerate on its own even with the brake pedal being pressed. My car started sputtering in traffic, the car revved up like I was pressing on the gas. Then yesterday I experienced immediate loss of power in the vehicle & the inability to increase speed, almost causing me to be involved in an accident. My vehicle slowed to approximately 10 - 20 mph. The manufacturer has not addressed this faulty problem and needs to address immediately!!!!! my life matters and so does everyone else's life and those of their family!!!! what is really upsetting to me is that this is a known problem that has been reported repeatedly by others who have had this situation!!! my life matters and so does everyone else's life and those of their family!!!!.
Brake engages. Engine: not accelerating, strange sound. Just purshaced the car 1 month ago.
While driving on highway (55 mph), dashboard lights flashed on and vehicle lost all power suddenly without notice. All power steering, brakes and electrical power was lost. This happened without prior warning. Vehicle losing all power suddenly while driving could have caused a fatal accident and should be addressed why no warning was given as to any issues the vehicle may have been experiencing.
"takata recall" on 1/5/17 my wife rear ended another driver after they slammed on brakes and my wife's brakes skirted cause sever damaged to the driver side of the car leaving her at fault and at the time my insurance lapse on the car. But the airbag did not deploy and she suffered injuries to her knees neck, shoulders and eye. I found Dodge has a recall for my make and model for the airbags but never told me and refused to help in any way and takata does not have a recall for my car for the airbags but for other Dodge models.
"takata recall"my wife got in a accident rear ending another car that stomped on breaks as she was trying to switch lanes her brakes did not clamp properly and her airbag did not deploy she was going 45mph on hwy 70 in durham, nc. She suffered injuries to her neck, shoulders, knees, and right eye. And our car received damages to the front driver side not driveable. After hearing from a mechanic that the airbag should have deploy and Dodge has a recall going on I did some research it was true. And my car did have a recall for the airbags since September of 2016 but I was never notified by Dodge or takata. I have own this car since 2013 brand new and have been driving for over 3 years, at any point in time during that me and my wife could have gotten into a really bad accident and died because the airbags didn't work. I would not have bought the car if I knew this, I was lied to by Dodge and sport durst where I purchased the car from and I want justice.
Car will rev and accelerate on its own even with brake pedal being pressed due to malfunctions in the electronic stability control I've even replaced the throttle body after reading forums about this similar problem and car continues to sporadically accelerate on its own at times while I'm driving or parked.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that there were several failures that progressed, such as the front passenger side door handle fractured. The dealer (kendall Dodge, 786-231-2120, 13355 137th Ave, miami, FL 33186) was notified of the failure. The contact was uncertain as to when the vehicle would be repaired. In addition, the contact received notification of a manufacturer's recall more than two years ago. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and the contact was waiting to determine when the recall repair would be completed. The failure mileage was not available. Parts distribution disconnect.

This automobile started out misfiring and using a lot of gas ,and we have had it in the shop numbers of times to have the problem fixed know that it getting older the problem has gone from just misfiring to stalling out to jerking at time to a smell of something hot to the gears changing hard also having breaking problems since about 14000 miles the grind real bad had rotors turned and still having that problem today had it checked out several times know we have this problem if we are stopped and turn the wheel to the right or left and take your foot of the break it takes off on it on it jumps all the problems have been reported to Chrysler several times we have been on something called the star program . They tried to give me 500. 00 dollars for my trouble then later they tried to buy the car back for msrp. Which I would lost money know I have attorney to handle this proble this car is unsafe myself and my family at risk everyday until something is done.
The car feels like it jumps a bit when going from accelerating to slowing to stopping. Feels like a vibration slowing down. Also there had been noises coming from the steering column area. And you could hear like a clicking noise. There was another different noise from that area as well. The noises are hard to describe. It has been in the shop and they are basically not finding anything wrong with it. The clicking/sounds are not normal and that vibration is not normal regardless of what they say. The car does not run as smooth as a brand new car should run. Will not purchase a Dodge again.
