I've had a few issues recently with my 2013 Dodge Avenger over the past year. When my change oil warning indicator comes on, some of my warning indicator lights randomly come on as well. The first few times my airbag indicator light would come on and stay on. When I took my car for the oil change I asked them check the airbags but there was nothing indicating a problem and once the oil was changed the light would go off and stay off. The next time it was the abs & the tire pressure monitoring system; I got the oil changed they checked, nothing was found again. Before this last time, my oil warning came on along with the emergency brake light, as if the brake was up and it stayed on even when I drove, again no problems were found. Last night (5/09/18) change oil warning indicator came on. This morning (5/10/18) I started my car (automatic car starter) went out to my car and my tire pressure monitoring system warning light and my electronic throttle control warning light were lit. I tried to turn the car off and back on, however the car wouldn't shut off right away. When I restarted my car the light indicators were gone. But while driving to work if I were to stop at a light or stop sign my car would idle and feel as though it was about to shut down so I had to put it in park while stopped. Also when I had to accelerate from the stop if I just drove like normal and took my foot of the brake and push the gas the rpm's would go to 7 then drop and my car would shake. I had to take my foot off the brake carefully then drift, and then press gently on the gas until I was able to pick up speed. This is my only vehicle in which I drive my children, please help!!.

Vehicle stalling and shaking, shutting down and loosing power while driving. Very unsafe and concerning.
It started with the blinker shorting out the lights inside the car and the problem is persistently getting worse. Now the horn goes off without notice while driving, now the horn is no longer working at all. I was nearly in an accident because I couldn't warn a vehicle they were entering my lane. I am concerned that my car electrical system will completely malfunction while driving as the electrical system is essentially the brain of the vehicle. Numerous Dodger owners have expressed that it will only get worse, even to the point of completely cutting off while in traffic.

The following three warning lights have started to come on intermittently; 1) malfunction indicator light (mil); 2) electronic throttle control (etc); and 3) electronic stability control (esc). The malfunction and esc lights were the first warning lights to come on. The lights have activated while I am driving on dry payment without any hazardous conditions present. The etc warning light now comes on too. I have noticed that the car seems to stall when I put it in drive. Take off is slow. It takes me several blocks of driving to reach 30 mph. The car will also feel as if it lunged but resume a slow pace. Take off is extremely slow when I stop for traffic lights. The engine seems to be losing pressure. I have maintained the recommended oil change schedule. The aforementioned conditions represents a safety hazard. I found recall # n52 online which appears to be for engine stall and the loss of engine pressure.
On my 2012 Dodge Avenger, I have had problems with my alternator and had to replace it 3 times, 2 times in the last 2 yrs. I have gotten it checked and the warning was detected that it was the charging system, and wiring system. The first time I experienced this, my engine light came on and the car stalled immediately with almost no warning except the light pops on deceleration and stalled on the interstate. The next time I experienced it was when I was driving home from work battery light then check engine light then the next day I needed a battery but I was told at the Dodge dealership that the code was for the charging system not charging properly my VIN number is not one of the vins that is a recall for my car, how is this possible when I am having the same problems time after time. I see where several customers have reported for the same problems with the same make and model. Why is this not a recall for my VIN as well.

Takata recall" I have experienced problems with the alternator 3 times, this vehicle is a 2012 Dodge Avenger, the mileage that I started receiving problems were probaly 67,000 and 80,000. I have replaced the alternator 3 times, 2 times in the last 2 years. The problem started when the egine light alerted me there was a problem I then took the car to get it checked and they said that the charging system was not charging the alternator properly, then it resulted in battery issues draining the battery, if I turned my lights or wipers on or anything electrical the problem was worse. Then the car stalled on the interstate, from there I was towed to a car max. There they charged me for the labor on the alternator because I had an exttended warranty at the time of this particular failure. The next incident I had to get the battery replaced and it was the alternator again after I replaced the battery. Took the car to replace again another alternator failure. I was driving every time I experience problems.
The first time the throttle control warning light came on, I was mid-turn into oncoming traffic when my vehicle stalled, completely stopping almost causing another vehicle to t-bone me. Car shut off and when I restarted it, it automatically accelerated. Arrived at my destination within a mile and later that day when I turned on my car to go home, the light was off and no issues. A couple days go by, on my way to work again, I am trying to stop for a red light, throttle control warning light comes on and car accelerates instead causing me to run the red light. Throttle control light stays on for the rest of the day but when I go to drive it the next day its off and no issues. Took car in to get oil changed and other unrelated work done and they don't find any issues. About 3 weeks go by, don't drive the car for 5 days, it drives fine the first day and then today (the second day) on my way to work, I went to slow down for a stop light, when I pushed on the gas to accelerate again, throttle control light comes on and I have the gas pedal to the floor but car won't go above 13 mph. Drove this way for about 3 miles, making no stops worried that I wouldn't be able to get it to go at all, until I was somewhere safe that I could park the vehicle. Just went to go turn it on after about 4 hours and light is still on.
When I first purchased this vehicle the engine light was on , I asked the sales person why and he said he hasn't been drove in a while . He took it for a ride and when he came back the light was off . A week later it came back on and I took it to auto zone they said it was the ignition coil . I fixed that and it still comes up randomly. Now my car still sounds horrible when I start it and I have to replace the starter and I've barley had the car since March . Also my car turns off randomly now while I'm in a reverse motion. Happens frequently. Also the tire pressure light is on and won't go away . I replaced tires and they say it's a sensor. A lot of problems and the sales person never told me there was any recalls on this vehicle.

Electrical system has critical internal errors where car will just shut-off completely. I've been on highway many times where my 2014 Dodge Avenger se v6 has lost power and completely idles. The battery is still working but car will no longer start. I have infant child and this defect has become a source of anxiety every time I drive this vehicle. Also, the nuts and bolts seem to come undone from the side frames below the driver and rear doors, as well as bolts under hood such as on the engine compartments. Finally, royalty auto informed me that the oil filter housing unit on this vehicle is stocked with plastic, when it should be made from alloy metal to ensure quality and safety.
Takata recall vehicle stalling and shaking, shutting down and loosing power while driving. Very unsafe and concerning, as the vehicle will shut off randomly in traffic in the road. Vehicle horn honks randomly, unable to shut off. Interior lights flashing randomly.
Ticking noise coming from dashboard when car is started and when it is turned off. Passenger side blows cold air when driver side blows hot.
It doesn't matter if the car is moving or if it is stationary, there is only warm air on the drivers side and there is cold air blowing out on the passenger side. Only the drivers half of my windshield will defrost. I have replaced the actuator twice and it does not help. The clicking under the dashboard not only returns, but the heat (or lack-there-of) is not affected. It still only blows warm air on the drivers side of the car. The defrost only works on the drivers side of the car. I understand there are many complaints of this happening to Avengers across the board, no matter the model type. All due it looks like to casting and sand issues. After flushing the car multiple times, there has been no change. Replaced the heater core/thermostat ($850) and the heat worked for about a week then started blowing cold air again. I took it back and they replaced the heater control panel. ($275). Cold air again. . . . . . . . . There needs to be a recall of something to fix this issue. Nothing is working and it's only costing a whole bunch of money.
Etc lights coming on car not safe to drive, part was replaced 6 months ago and returned again. Taking to dealer but I am trying to get rid of this car for this issue. I have not found a solution to this issue yet. While driving car started sputtering in traffic, I had to pull over and try again to make it home. Once I got there the car revs up like I am pressing on the gas so I am getting it towed to dealer.
The vehicle's heater blows cold air on the passenger side and warm air from the drivers side simultaneously. All vents ( foot area, face area, and windshield area) are affected.
Tire pressure monitoring system indicator light came on. Every since I have been having various problem with this car. Such as engine rough idling/stalling, transmission issues, tire pressure monitor don't work, engine won't start/dead battery. Just a lot of unusual problems. I be driving the vehicle city or highway. Don't matter whether I am driving straight or turning. This vehicle will stall in the middle of the road. Yet stall right back up. All started after the tire pressure monitoring light came on. I believe it has something to do with the tire monitor system. I have been taken chances, hoping that it will go away like it started. My repair service can't fine the problem and said to check for recalls. These unsafe conditions have been going on for a while. Help needed.
Issues over the years since purchasing include happened many times: dummy lights flashing on/off at their pleasure, clock always being off time and having to be reset every couple of days, random accelerations not provoked by driving or incline while on cruise and off, warning lights come on while speedometer stops working yet rpm is correct, and car completely shut off while driving.
tamara recall my car has always just shut off at times when I would come to a stop my passenger side air bag stopped working. It's now got a fuel pump problems with a burnt sensor.
While driving, electronic throttle control light as well as the traction control light illuminated on the dashboard. Driver experienced immediate loss of power in vehicle & inability to increase speed, causing rear traffic to take cautious action. Vehicle slowed to approximately 10 - 20 mph. Car was parked for a day. Upon starting again, no issue/ warning lights. One month later, same issue. Upon restart, warning lights persist. Vehicle at over 90,000 miles.
Windshield wipers failed on several occasions while driving in the rain. Had the wiper motor and switch replaced and the problem persists. Wipers will stop in the middle of the windshield and inch up and down but never going back to original position. I have to physically push the wipers back down each time. Also, headlight flicker. Vehicle has also started by itself without the key or remote starter function. This all points to the tipm since it controls all of these functions.
Takata recall this car keeps burning out 15amp fuse. We've narrowed it down to some faulty wires connected to rampshift senor, but the connector to the senor is not at an auto parts store.
Takata recall I was involded in a accident, my vehicle was rear ended and my seat belts did not locked or airbags did not eject. Also my break indicater always pops up on the dash board. My back window stop rolling down. The air conditioner makes a loud claking sound everytime I turn on or off the engine. And it wont revers. Theeres something new always going on with this car.

We have been having a lot of problems with our car lately. First problem we had was with our alarm system. The alarm has gone off on us both when the car is off and when the car is on. The horn starts and won't go off until after about 5 minutes no matter what we do. We have try turning it of with our key alarm, turning the car on and off, unlocking the doors but nothing seems to work. Yesterday we were driving our car and the car stall and we were lucking to be able to pull to the side safetly since we were coming to a stop. After a couple attempts, we got the car back on and running. I have search this problem and I found that it could be the tpms. As to what we have experience with the car lately, we are almost sure it is this. We contacted the dealership and we were told that this recall was perform back in April of 2008 and are not responsible for anything the car is going through now and will not replace the part for us again. Can you please let me know if the dealership is required to switch this part for us again since our car is not safe to drive or if we would have to solve this problem.
Electronic throttle system icauses a rapid change in speed.
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Avenger. While driving various speeds, the emergency stabilizer control indicator illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but the diagnosis was undetermined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000. The VIN was unavailable.
Car will rev and accelerate on its own even with brake pedal being pressed due to malfunctions in the electronic stability control I've even replaced the throttle body after reading forums about this similar problem and car continues to sporadically accelerate on its own at times while I'm driving or parked.
Driving on interstate and car jerks and then shuts off ! cars swerve around to avoid hitting me. Thank god! I could start the car back up to get off the road all I could do was cry and pray that no one hit me in the back! that someone would help me to the side of the road! that I would see my children again! called the tow truck and sat in my because I was not prepared to play frogger with my life! googling a how to. Unfortunately, for me there was no option. What really, made me mad was that this was a known problem and others have had this situation! the manufactuer has not addressed this faulty problem!.
Since 2016, my car has been out of heat on the passenger side and is now starting to lose heat on the driver side. I have had great up-keep on my car and get it fixed on a regular bases. During the winter my car is freezing cold. It is only letting heat out on the far left driver side vent and this is starting to blow cold air too. It takes forever to warm the inside of my car or never warms up at all. I'm unsure what the underlying problem is that I see is very common for this type of car. Being in the military I don't have thousands of dollars to get this fix. It is totally a manufactures defect and need to fixed immediately.
While on the highway doing 75 mph, my 2013 Avenger immediately dropped to 40 mph. It felt like a car had re ended me, after dropping to 40, my car lost all power. My rpms went to 0, and I had no control while steering. It left me stranded for 45 minutes and suddenly turned back on. This has happened 3 times already. Also, before I had the dealership disconnect my horn, it would randomly blare. Sitting in traffic and it would go off. Sometimes it would beep once, other times it would last anywhere from 2-10 minutes. Turning the car off wouldn't solve the problem, it would actually continue. The mechanics told me it was my tipm (total integrated power module) that caused this to happen, only seen in Chrysler models. This problem has been ongoing starting with my horn since Sep. 23rd, 2016.
My Dodge avanger throttle bottle control keep going out. I contacted Dodge about this issue and the first time they adviced me to take it tobthe dealership and they fixed it but I still had fees to pay. The car had the samw issue a year later I just gotbit fixed. It has now did the same thing , I took it to the dealership and was told that this type of vehicle will continue to happen. The flashing lightning bolt on my dash continues to flash. I have read many other owners of this vehicle with the same issue. Chrysler Dodge is aware of this issue and when I contacted them they did nothing. I am also having an issue with the drivers window not going back up. There are many complaints on this as well. This is dangerous becousr while I was driving going past an intersection the car slowd completed down and then the red lights of a lightning bolt flashed.
While driving the car started accelerating by itself and the engine reed high. Wipers come on by themselves. Seat belt light stays on even when you have it on. Battery light comes on periodically.
While in motion, driving, the car down the road it loses power. You have to either pull over or put it in neutral turn the car off and wait a about a minute and turn the car back on and you can go for awhile. A error pops up but when you shut it off and turn it back on it resets itself. Hard to find out what is wrong with it, but we changed out the throttle body and a sensor, was told that you cant flash the computer on this car. This has been going on now for 3 months.
The drivers side window regulator is not working properly. Drivers side window will not go back up. Electrical problems random but always while in motion. Lights dim off and on. Tachometer has climbed to 70 miles per hour when only doing 40 miles per hour. Headlights brighten and dim. Safety gauges flash off and on. There is a recall for these problems with same make and model but not my VIN number. This car was purchased at enterprise in 2014. For some reason I am not receiving any recall notices. Could you please explain to me why my car is not included in these recalls. Thank you.
The widows won't work it takes forever to put gas in the tank this car has a lot of problems.
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Avenger. While driving various speeds, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle hesitated before moving forward. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The electronic stability control warning indicator illuminated. The contact had to restart the vehicle to correct the failure. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the electronic throttle control sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 56,000.
I have a 2012 Avenger; the heat on the passenger side of the car stopped blowing hot air. I took the Avenger in for a diagnostic test and was told that the issue was from casing sand clogging the radiator, heater core and the oil cooler. This is a manufactures defect. Also the spring on the actuator door was sticking and not opening properly . . Poor contact materials on the connectors for the actuators!!. It seems that over time they oxidize and develop a resistance that attenuates the signal back to the control. When the signal gets too low the control loses track of the actuator position and keeps driving the motor, resulting in clicking or broken teeth. It is tough to reach the connector contacts to clean them- the clicking goes on even after the car is off!!!! please fix!.
