Car lost acceleration at 35 mph electronic throttle light came on. Acceleration came back up. Next day no problems. The following day car was sputtering and light came on again then went off. Lost acceleration again at 30mph, with light coming on and then going off. 1 hour later when turning on car electronic throttle light is flashing and the whole car is shaking badly. I was able to coast the 1/4 mile home since there was no traffic with the car shaking the entire way and the light flashing. 10 minutes later had to go out and move car no issues. This is a serious problem. I had this fixed exactly a year ago. Being told it was something clogging a hose. I find that hard to believe when so many other people are having the exact same problem and almost getting killed when driving. Do a recall Dodge. Because we shouldn't have to pay to fix things when the mechanics aren't sure what the problem is. I'm praying I can make it to my garage safely tomorrow morning. I'm terrified to drive my car and haven't in 2 days.

My Dodge Avenger had a throttle control light illuminated on the dash when first starting the vehicle. Thereafter, the car first would not go over 20 mph. Later this problem progressed. The car only had a small amount of power. It could get up to 30-40 mph on flat areas but struggled to maintain 5 mph on inclines. The vehicle would also shake violently when the transmission was in gear but the vehicle was stopped do to engine vibrations. I am currently in the progress of replacing the Avengers throttle body. Normally I wouldn't report this, but when I called the dealer to order the part he informed me that they have been replacing a lot of these lately due to problems.

On the highway in an attempt to accelerate, the electronic throttle control light began to flash and the car lost power. I had to get onto the shoulder and put my hazards on and try and drive the car while never getting over 20mph. After restarting the car it drove ok, however, there was no passing acceleration when the pedal is to the floor. Leading up to this event, the car has been stuttering when shifting between gears. My wife had the same issue with her caliber before she got rid of it. There needs to be a recall!!!.
Once electronic throttle control indicator light comes on, it is difficult to maintain consistent speed. I also have no control over my temperature gauges. Airbag light, check engine light comes on together with this as well.
Electronic throttle control light came on and stayed flashing could not go over approx 15-25 mph. Pulled over shut car off and restarted and worked fine for the 5 min drive I had to complete after it happened. 9 hours later while driving the throttle control light came on again with loss of power intermittently then stayed off for 5 min drive I had to complete.
The electronic throttle control light comes on and makes the car impossible to drive. This has been an issue for me for 10 months. I have read about many others having this exact problem with no luck or help from Dodge. After cleaning and replacing the few affordable things, I still can not go more than a few days without the light coming back on. It usually sits in the driveway at least until I can afford the recommended $1100 repair that Dodge refuses to fix. I will never ever buy another Dodge.

The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, the electrical throttle control warning indicator illuminated intermittently and the vehicle decelerated independently. Was driving on the highway and could not go over 30 mph. The electronic throttle light came on and was flashing. I got off at the next exit and had the vehicle towed. A couple of days later, tried the vehicle and it did run fine again. After a couple more days, the speed was not what it should be. Moved very slow and the rpm went high before it would change gears. Lost power especially going up hill. Happened again today. Could not go over 30 mph. Barely made it up a hill and to work. Having the vehicle towed again.
The car would sputter like it was having a hard time accelerating then the electronic throttle body light came on. I was on my way to a dealership to find out what was wrong. I was merging onto a busy interstate when my car went from 60-65 mph down to 30-35 mph while I was still trying to speed up to merge onto the interstate. This incident came very close to resulting in me getting rear ended. The next day I went and had the whole throttle body replaced (January 2013). In October 2013 I started to have the same problems, the throttle body light would come on and the car would sputter like it couldn'¿¿t pick up speed or it would rev up while I was slowing down. I had the throttle body cleaned and it ran okay for a week or two. Then September 2013 I took it to a dealership yet again, they said it was old codes causing the problem. They cleared the codes and it was fine for a little bit. Then around April 2014 it would start up again. It would run fine and on occasion the throttle control light would come on. But in August 2014 it started acting up again. The rpms would rev up from 1 to 3 while in park. I would be sitting at a red light with my foot on the brake and the car would rev up for no reason. It has completely stalled out on me two days in a row. Luckily it was when I was in parking lots. This is a newer car and there is no logical reason to have this much ongoing trouble with the throttle body except some kind of defect. It is also very dangerous. Because it will act up a day or two then be fine for a few days making it difficult for a shop to actually see what the car is doing. The light comes on and it acts up and sometimes when you turn the car off and back on it¿ll be fine. But the fact that it will stall out or decelerate with no notice is very dangerous especially since I drive on a busy interstate at least twice a day.

As I was driving down the road headed onto the interstate my car lost speed and went from 50mph to 40mph and the electronic throttle body light came on. Gas pedal was to the floor and couldn't go over 40mph. Felt like the car was going to die if I was to let off the gas then it would all of a sudden speed up on its own to 50. When I had to slow down for a red light which thankfully I didn't need to stop I couldn't get the mph over 30 once I started going again. I got home safe but this seems to be a problem as I have read. This needs to be fixed or recalled. Big safety issue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
