Breaking system failed, it is available for inspection, I told the state trooper what happened along with several police officers, they agreed that the breaking system was not supposed to lock up which caused the car to skid several feet and the end results are that a very bad wreck happened which left my car undrivable and locked up, the car front disk breaks , front wheel drive, there not suppose to lock up. The air bag did go off, there was no warning sign to let you know you were going to crash, the car picked up speed even while the breaks were fully pushed to the floor when the car did not slow down this caused a wreck and totaled the front of my car resulting in the frame being severely damaged , hood push in, windshield busted, driver hit with air bag, car had to be pulled whiteout being able to be put in neutral which caused more damage to car. There was no warning until the breaks locked up and plowing into another automobile. Two other vehicles involved, could only see one , both were not moving, saw no break lights, no turn signal, this caused the driver to be injured, driver had cruse control set to speed limit 55, trooper suggested was speeding they were not and they are white not chinese.

I bought a 2013 Dodge Avenger took it for inspection turns out rims arent truely round both are defected which makes tires leak air left to be filled every 2 days car never in accident all rims are a defect from company, why should I be have to buy air compressor or late for work cause I have to blow up tires.
The dealership stated that the car tire's were check I than had to come back 2 days later because of the wheel shaking badly and making a loud noise . The dealership stated that the car had a bad wheel bearing and that they missed it . I than brought car to be fixed and was turned away because of the weather conditions which dealership was already aware of even after telling them I don't feel safe driving the car home on the rain I was still turned away and asked to come back at a convenient time for the dealers mechanics car was swerving on high way due to tire and rain and could have caused an accident.

My oil light came on and all it does is ding and there is no code showing up. The tire light keeps coming on amd off even though all the tires have the right amount of air pressure. The airbag light started coming on if I turn the car off and restart it does go off but sometimes it will turn back on.
I bought 4 new goodyear eagle ls2 225/35r17 tires on August 08/2018 at a local goodyear store. On 05/05/2019 my granddaughter with her one year old baby in the back car seat. Were approaching the freeway, while still on the entrance ramp the front tire totally blew out and disintegrated. There was less than 10% of tire left on the wheel. She pulled off onto the grass and waited for assistance from the highway patrol. There was no damage at all to the aluminum rims, as she didn't drive any farther. I have never seen a blowout disintegrate more than ninety percent of the tire. I am not an expert, but this sure looks like a defect in the tire itself. Once again absolutely no damage to my aluminum rim.
Engine cooling and engine malfunction. Car stalled in the middle of driving and had to get it towed this happened approximately around Nov. 8 2018 and the car has not worked since. Wheel does not stay in alignment when I get it aligned.
Today is July 17, 2018. I discovered there were 6 recalls on the 2008 Dodge Avenger I purchased a month and a half ago, but the dealer never bothered to disclose any of this information to me. When I asked why the sensor light was on I was told it was nothing important, just the air pressure on the tires due to leakage, and all it needed was a cap on the valve stem. The caps on the valve stems of two wheels were replaced but the light stayed on. A few days after the purchase, I was driving about 66 mph when the car started jerking as if the fuel was gasping; it scared me to death! two weeks after the purchase, the engine light came on while I was driving on the freeway, and wouldn't go off; the car must be taken in for diagnostic which I'm told will cost almost $100 to find out why the engine light was on. I'm afraid to drive it with the engine light on and the other light blinking, so the car will just set in the parking area until I can raise enough money to pay for the $250 deductible on the extended warranty I purchased for $1,500, and the problem may not even be covered by the warranty. Also, first the dealer sold me the car without a key fob which I knew nothing about it until the horn started honking and lights started flashing when I unlocked the door to get back into the car a couple of days after the purchase. The sales person told me I could get one made at a discount, but when I went back to purchase it I was told I was mistaken. After shopping around it cost me over $100 to get one made (though the dealer would have charged me over $200. ).
After 80'000 miles shifing problems, the car will not go into reverse. Will not back up. Along with seat belt issues.

We have never had a flat tire until we bought this car, the monitoring valve stems have to be defective. We have had three blowouts all on the highway within the past three years due to these stems. Is there a recall? if not there should be. We would get rid of them but they tell us the light on the dashboard will stay on. There is no warning, the light does not come on and we check our tire pressure. I see Dodge has had recalls on these stems but not for the Avenger. Each time we lose the tire too, by the time we can pull out of traffic on the highway. It costs us $120 dollars each time for the tire new monitoring valve stem, having it programmed and a tire, already $360. 00 and the possibility of getting killed changing the tire each time. Can you help us? we have one original one left and we know it is going to go? the car was purchased from milford Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealer, milford PA 18337, phone number 570-296-2636. Thank you, laura hendricks 150 meadow ridge acres road dingmans ferry, PA 18328.
Passenger headlight, turn signals, and brake lights not working when is started vehicle was in motion. Have put 5 sets of tires on it in the 4 years owned bought new, check engine light randomly comes on car runs bad and goes to 3rpms the quickly drops to 2rpms and barely goes 40mph and radio goes crazy also happens when in motion.
I have purchased 6 viva 2 tires in a two year spam for the tires blowing out blowing from inside out tread erring down almost caused me to have two wrecks and now I am out 2more tires for the same reason it will make 8 tires I've had to purchase in 2yrs and walmart isn't wanting to replace them it's always we can discount them for u because they no longer even sell the viva 2 tire I have two receipts but it will only allow one picture to be posted the other receipt is dated11/11/2015 that was for two viva 3to replace the viva 2s that were no good which left two viva 2on my car and now those are no good one on driver side rear blew from inside out nearly causing me to wreck on the interstate.
My tires pressure light comes on a lot even after having the tire pressure fixed. Not sure if this is normal.
Tire pressure monitoring system short circuits leading to faulty readings on gauge, cruise control won't operate at speeds over 40 mph, radio constantly skips from one station to another, etc. Contacted Chrysler about the recall on this (recall #: 08v152000) asking to have it repaired free of charge, but they refused. These issues occur when the vehicle is both stationary and mobile.
Tl- the contact owns a 2010 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicles tires began to deflate rapidly. The contact stated that the vehicle was inspected an it was seen that the vehicle's valve stem sleeve had corroded and broken off. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 71,000. Wh.
The tire separated and exploded, this is a fairly new car, I could of had an accident. This should be recalled right away.

My son purchased his 2008 Avenger used in 2014 from oklahoma. He is in the military and while deployed I am maintaining his vehicle at the local dealership in michigan with oil changes and service. While driving at 55mph on the freeway the tpms light came on then the cruise control turned off. Then the engine light as I was exiting the freeway the engine stopped. I started the vehicle which stalled at every. Intersection and on turns would stall putting me in the opposite lane. When looking up recalls it showed the exact problem. I took the vehicle to the dealership. They stated no recall on this VIN# and the problem is his timing chain and of course the fee is 1500. 00 dollars. It seems fiat Chrysler is trying to do everything not to fix these older models.
While traveling on the highway I noticed a pulling/shaking of the vehicle felt as if the car did not want to follow my control. It will also feel as if it wants to attempt to stall or switch gears while driving.
I parked the car and went back to it and the front tire was flat, due to the tpms (tire pressure monitoring) sensor had corroded, causing it to break off and the valve stem to go inside the tire and wheel of the car. A further inspection of the rest of the tpms sensors revealed that the right rear tpms sensor was also corroded and half broken, and could have snapped off while driving, causing an immediate blow-out of the tire and a potential crash/injury.
The tires have a defect all four, bridgestone turanza brand tire have deep cracks around the outer rim of the tire,it first appeared when the season changed from winter to spring it became very noticeable as it became warmer, unable to pass inspection, with tires less than, 26 thousand miles on them.

I purchased my car (sxt v6) 5/2013 from joe cecconi's in niagara falls, NY. . I've previously owned a 2008 Avenger with the 4 cyl. Engine and I am a driving enthusiast. I felt the car shifting roughly and I decided to take the car in to the dealership on 10/12/2013 because I was also having a problem with the car pulling hard to the left. The techs assured me that the car was only "learning how I drive" and I explained that my 2008 did the same thing. For the pulling, they did an alignment. When I picked the car up, I drove it and it was about 2 weeks (10/31/2013) before I was able to take it back in due to the same issues; pulling, shaking and a hard shifting transmission. The tech once again told me that there was nothing wrong with the transmission and that my car was way off alignment. . . Even though it was recently serviced. Around 12/5/2013, I took the car back once again and I spoke to a tech around 6pm and he told me that Chrysler uses "snowmobile type transmissions" and that they will always shift roughly, he explained that there was no fix. I was told that they could not service my car at that time of day. On 12/11/2013 they did a wheel rotation and an alignment, the car stopped pulling for several months, pulling is very slight now, possibly due to needing another alignment now. I have an issue where I will also be traveling in what should be third gear shifting to fourth (attempting to pick up speed quickly, usually thruways) and there are times that the car will not pick up speed quickly, as if it was sitting in sixth gear rather than third or fourth. This issue is not always present and I have decided to drive the car with the auto stick since there is no failure in shifting this way. The rough-shifting transmission is something that Chrysler has known about in the Dodge Avengers for a long time but they seem to disregard their Avenger owners.
From date of purchase brand new off the lot 2013 Dodge Avenger 3. 6l blacktop edition. Within a few days I started noticing the car would pull to the right. I took it back to the dealership to have the alignment looked at and fixed and they said they re aligned everything and should be fine. After a week I noticed it started to pull to the right again. At that point I took it into a different shop where they actually told me that they can't re align the car based on the fact that how the cars suspension was manufactured and design is faulty to where the alignment will never be able to be corrected and there's nothing they can do. I am military and have moved 2 times since the purchase and have takin the car to several shops and have been told the same. That the alignment is as best as it can get and will always pull to the right based on the design and how it came from the factory. I've had the car for 3 yrs now and have had to buy brand new tires every year while rotating and balancing my tires every 3 months. This is a serious defect and Dodge will not take ownership of the fault and has not provided any help in coming up with a solution to fix the suspensions alignment always being off.
I bought this car brand new off the lot and have owned it for 2 years. The back of the car sways in the back, which I did not notice this at first being the driver, but passengers did. As time went on it got worse and I began noticing it in the front. The back end sways anytime you hit a bump and in the winter the back end is all over the place. I've been driving in winter weather for 10 years now and never had so much anxiety until driving this car. The back end makes hollow clicking noises from time to time like something is going to just "pop off". The steering wheel pulls to the right (even after all alignments, tires checked). When you attempt to push on the gas after being stopped the car stalls a great deal. The left rear suspension has been replaced already, the sway bar tightened, camber bushings done and there are still issues with the above but the dealer states "nothing is wrong". I have had my car in the dealership numerous of times for all of this not to mention the bubbling of the paint on the hood, the trunk leaking water and a few recalls. I plan on trading this car in ASAP and will not be purchasing another Dodge. I spent way too much money on a car to have this many issues with barely 20,000 miles on it.
The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that while driving 55 mph, the tire warning light illuminated. The contact later discovered that wiring from both rear tires was exposed from the sides. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that the tires needed to be replaced and that the vehicle needed an alignment. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred on the rear tires within 8,000 miles. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but could not determine that cause of the failure. The failure mileage was 13,400.
13400 miles on car when right rear tire went flat. When I took off flat inside shoulder of tire had worn thru cords. Took to Dodge dealer in covington, TN and they said alignment must be out. Noticed left rear tire also showing steel cords on inner shoulder. Tech said didn't look like car had alignment at factory. Did alignment and alignment was . 03 degrease off on one tire the rest were within spec. Dealership cant explain what happened, no one ive talked to can explain what happened. 2000 miles from home in a new car and have to spend 400. 00 on tires and alignment. . . . . Not happy.
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that the tire monitoring system failed. The tire low pressure warning light was illuminated constantly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer numerous times and the dealer advised that there was nothing wrong with the tire monitoring system. In addition, the check engine warning light recently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where a diagnostic was performed which located the failure at the electronic control module. The contact was also advised that the evap canister was fractured. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 8 and the current mileage was 2,540. The VIN was not available.
Told dealership it was pulling to the left but they could never schedule a time to fix it. Finally took it to a different Dodge dealer and they said that there was no way to fix the back alignment. They said that Dodge had incorrectly put it together and there is no way to fix it! they told me I shouldn't drive my brand new car because it's probably not safe with the angle in which the wheels are!.
The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that the tire pressure valve stem fractured. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the tires. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure and current mileage was 35,000.
The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that the rear passenger tire failed while driving approximately 65 mph. In addition, the rear driver's side tire failed while the vehicle was parked in a residential garage. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who inspected the tires and located the failure at the valve stem and air pressure sensors, which were corroded due to road salts. The dealer replaced the air pressure sensors and the valves. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact that the failure was not recalled. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 54,100 and the current mileage was 54,416.
On 9 June 2012 the vehicle experienced a total loss of pressure to the front driver's side tire at 25 mph. The vehicle was pulled over immediately and the tpms valve had broken apart and fallen into the tire. The sensor/stem was replaced and the wheel and undamaged tire remounted. On 1 July 2012, the monitoring system indicated that there was low pressure to the rear driver's side tire. The vehicle was travelling at 70 mph on the highway. When monitoring the pressure, the psi was dropping about 1 psi every 5 minutes. The vehicle was pulled into the next rest stop 5 miles later and the stem was coming apart in various places. Air was leaking from the base of the stem. The entire sensor was barely being held onto the wheel by what remained of the outside of the stem. The tire was changed and the vehicle driven back home with a spare. After arriving home, the front passenger side stem was found to have split down the middle but still maintaining pressure. The rear passenger side did not appear to have any damage. On 2 July 2012 all sensors/stems were removed from the vehicle and replaced to avoid any future dangerous failures.
All of my valve stem's on my vehicle had to be replaced due to material defect, I contacted Dodge and reported the defect to them last July (2011). However they failed to take any action on the matter, this past Friday my wife took her 2009 Dodge caliber in for new tires and found 3 out of 4 valve stems were bad on her vehicle as well. I called the local Dodge dealer to find out if the valve stem's had been recalled, I was told they were not and that the cost would be $102. 00 a tire to be repaired. I been told that this is a known problems for this year of vehicle with Dodge.
We have continued to have problems with these rims. I am about to retire my third wheel from this car. The wheel looks good, but it just can't hold air due to the rim bending right at the bead or outer rim. The rim in question is a 17 inch silver rim on the 97 Avenger. It bends way too easily. This car belonged to my daughter and we started encountering the bent rim's losing air when she was in high school. She initially drove the car only to school and back. . . 8 miles a day. I bought a new rim, only to have another factory rim go bad for the same reason. I suspect I now have a third wheel going bad on me. There needs to be a response to such poor quality sold on new cars. (even though the year sold was 1997).
