Gas Recirculation Valve (egr Valve) problem

The first time; the vehicle suddenly stopped running, had no brakes or power steering and my wife was barely able to safely coast to the side of the road. After catching our breath, it restarted on the second try. The next time it completely shut down I was driving and we were in traffic traveling about 65 mph, I quickly placed the shifter in neutral and tried the key and luckily it restarted. The next time the vehicle randomly shut down we were almost hit from behind and then nearly sideswiped while trying to escape the traffic, and we waited nearly half an hour for the vehicle to restart. After replacing the fuel pump, the fuel pump relay, ignition wires, spark plugs, egr valve, crankshaft position sensor, oxygen sensors, and a whole bunch of other parts that I discovered may possibly be the problem- it still randomly shuts down whenever and wherever; but somehow always in traffic! this vehicle has low mileage and appears to have been maintained in an above average condition. Unfortunately, it is a rolling coffin, or would "deathtrap" be more appropriate. After thorough and extensive research I have discovered thousands of other disgruntled Dodge owners that are experiencing precisely the same issue. I am amazed that absolutely no one has figured out the specific reason for the problem in fifteen years!.
