Three problems related to conventional parking brake have been reported for the 1996 Dodge Caravan. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Parking brake would go to floor and not keep car from moving. Had to release and press again several times to get it to work. This happened for a couple years and now would only grab at top. Dealer had to replace parking break mechanism.
Emergency brake malfunctioned four times. Firs two times resulted in the rlease handle popping out and would not reset to its parking place; last two malfunctions resulted in non-functiona; emergency brake.
Parking brake failed.
