Five problems related to engine oil leaking have been reported for the 1997 Dodge Caravan. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Went to change the brakes and noticed an oil leak. Contacted dealer, and was told this is a common problem with a 4- cylinder after certain mileage. Engine leaking from the head gasket.
Consumer noticed there is an oil leak coming from the engine or anohter part of the vehicle. The oil is in the driveway of the consumer's house.
Engine heads cracked, causing anti-freeze to leak into the oil pan, the engine smokes vey bad because of this. Dealer has been contacted.
There has been 5 replacement torque converters since purchase. Vehicle shuts down due to the defect in the torque converter. This problem had happened several times while traveling on the highway, every year the consumer had to have the transmission rebuilt, also the brakes. The transmission overhauled twice, there was an oil pan leak, the engine light stayed on, and the ac needed a new condenser.
