Unknown Or Other problem #1

I just purchased this van (used) yesterday and this morning the power locks stopped working. They responded neither to the key nor to the switch on the door. They only work manually. Come to find out, through my own research on the internet, I guess this is an serious issue wit this particular year Caravan.

Unknown Or Other problem #2

Power door locks stopped operating. They cannot be unlocked with the keyless entry, nor can the be unlocked by the driver's or passenger's power buttons. As time has gone by, we have been manually locking and unlocking the doors, but now those are even getting harder to unlock manually. . . . It is as if they are becoming stuck shut.

Unknown Or Other problem #3

The doors will not lock/unlock with the key automatically nor will the doors lock when driving as they normally do. The car "beeps" so you think the doors are locked but they are not. The first few times it occurred, we removed the fuse and reinserted. Eventually this "fix" worked only briefly. This failure is unsafe for personal safety and also for property in the car. This is a common problem with 2005 Dodge Caravans.

Unknown Or Other problem #4

I was driving on the interstate on a cool fall day on a smooth paved interstate, with noone around. I heard a noise like something flying off my car. Not being too concerned as my car was driving fine, I continued driving and arrived at my destination. After getting out of the van, I noticed the entire red cover on my rear tail light- driver's side- had completly fallen off! obviously since I wasn't ever in an accident and didn't run into anything that day, it must be a manufacturer's defect. I have found other complaints online in regards to this with the 2005 Dodge Caravan. As I'm on a tight budget, now I have to spend a lot of money to get this tail light fixed so I can pass my vehicle inspection that is due. Not very happy with Dodge right now!! thank you for investigating this report. I appreciate your time and hope this complaint moves further to a recall.

Unknown Or Other problem #5

My power locks stopped working about a month ago. They will work manually but will not operate with the remote or the power lock button. Tried disconnecting battery and then re-connecting, tried remedy in handbook (turning key in ignition 4 times on and off , without actually starting it, and then depressing the power lock switch) which worked for two days. This is a safety issue!!! the locks are designed to automatically lock when reaching speed of approximately 20 mph. It does not. This is a safety issue!! why doesn't Dodge admit to this problem and provide a free software upgrade! many people are experiencing the same problem. Google it, it's there plain as day! is Dodge hoping the problem will just go away by itself? this is a safety issue! fix it!.

Unknown Or Other problem #6

2005 Dodge Caravan has a safety problem with the multi- functional switch. It causes the headlights to go out for no reaso9n. This is extremely dangerous. I was on a dark country road and the headlights would not stay on. They would go out completely and at a speed of 60 mhr it is very dangerous. I read on the internet blogs that this seems to be an ongoing problem for 20058 Dodge Caravans. Why is there not a safety recall on this?.

Unknown Or Other problem #7

The passenger side sliding door will not unlock using the key or the driver or passenger door's electric unlock button. The manual button on the door also will not unlock the door. I have not be able to open the door for over a month. I have seen suggestions on the web of taking out and then put back the iod fuse, but that did not work.

Unknown Or Other problem #8

I have a 2005 Dodge grand Caravan with only 50000 miles on it. While driving the vehicle, the gauges on the dashbord will intermittenly start blinking off and on the speedometer bounces from left to right. The gas gauge bounces from empty to full. Sometimes the car's ignition kills while driving. The electronic doors will not open or close with using the remote or manually. I have also smelled smoke from time to time. I have researched this problem via the internet and have discovered that alot of people have this same complaint with there Dodge grandcaravan. In these vehicles the body control module seem to be the culprit. The failure occurs everytime I have driven the vehilce since 10/2009. I have my vehicle at a Dodge dealership who is fixing everything but the problem. I fill like I am being scammed. I am sure that this is not the first time that the dealership has seen this problem.

Unknown Or Other problem #9

First it was the emergency flashers went on and couldn't get them to stop took it in to folsom lake Dodge to get it fixed it was still on factory warrant and they replaced the clock spring is what they told me. Then after that after the warrant was done the air bag light on the panel in front of the stirring wheel came on and wouldn't stay off it comes on most of the time and stays so I don't know if my air bags or on or off. Now yesterday my door locks wouldn't work unless I do it manually but I can't get the back gate to lock around here you need to keep the doors locked removed the battery cable and it working right now but ready about it I'm not the only one has this trouble. I feel the is a manufacturer problem here can you let me know what can be done to get this fixed I fell this is a safety issue. And it needs to be fixed. I got my van when the 2005 first came out March 2004.

Unknown Or Other problem #10

Today after I loaded up my family into my 2005 Dodge Caravan I started to drive off to head to the store. After driving a couple of feet I realize that I have a flat. While I was loosening the lugnuts so I could take off the tire, two of the bolts that held the tire in place snapped while they were still attached to the lugnut. I also noticed that was already a bolt that was missing from the drum. Therefore, now I only have 2 working bolts on the drum and both of them look pretty worn. The vehicle I have was purchased not even 2 years previous from a car dealership. I was also told by a friend of the family who owned a 2003 that they had the same problem with the bolts on their tire drum.

Unknown Or Other problem #12

My van is a 2005 and has had 4 sets of belts. They squeal. No one seems to be able to repair the problem. It now needs another set for a total of 5 sets.

Unknown Or Other problem #13

In June, 2005 I purchased a 2005 Dodge Caravan sxt. In doing so, I traded in a 1999 Dodge Caravan se. I did not notice until about 2 weeks ago, that the instruments (left & right outside mirror controls, head light switch, and dome light switch) on the left side of the steering column did not illuminate when the head lights are turned on. After taking the vehicle to the vendor from which the vehicle was purchased, I was told that the 2005 Caravan did not illuminate the instruments on the left of the steering column. My 1999 Caravan did. By not illuminating the instruments on the left of the steering, in my opinion, creates a safety hazard. If the need for an adjustment to the left or right outside rear view mirrors, or the dome light control needs adjusting at night, the instruments for doing this can not be seen, which will create a safety hazard. It is suggested that Chrysler corp. Recall the 2005 Caravans and install an illumination light in the dash behind the aforementioned instruments. You attention to this safety defect will be greatly appreciated.
