I was driving my Dodge Caravan 2005 on the freeway and the exterior lights kept turning off and the instrument panel where the speedometer is would too. I was scary and dangerous had my three children and pregnant wife with me at the time. We could have been seriously injured.
Door lock system has failed due to computer glitch. From what I have found on-line this problem has been happening for years and should be covered by a recall.
If the van is really low on gas and I fill it up completely, when I leave the station, by the first or second time I stop or really slow down the van will die. It must be filled completely though. I have been a couple places to get it checked out but can't find a problem. I try and make it die on me now before leaving the parking lot.
My power locks stopped working. The key fob beeped, but did nothing, and using the buttons within the car did nothing. I took it to a mechanic who fixed loose wires, and they worked again. . . For just a couple months. Now they told me I need to have Dodge "flash" the computer system, (for over $100!) but everything I've read online says that is only a temporary fix, and changing the fuse may fix it, again, temporarily. It seems to be a major defect and with children in the car, is a very major safety hazard. It's not okay to have to fix this repeatedly.
Driving 2005 Dodge grand Caravan on highway at posted 55 mph, bang sound under van, pulled over within 10th of mile, spare tire had come loose, was trapped under van, spare tire appears to never have been used, raised van up with a large rock placed under front wheel, drove up rock and with the decline of highway allowed van to come up high enough then pulled spare tire out, wife burned arm on exhaust pipe when pulling tire out, have not had spare tire placed back under van or inspected as of yet.
