When filling with gas the engine turns off while driving, this happened on a left turn with vehicles approaching, cars had to stop and help push van out of street. Luckily it did not cause an accident, had two young children in vehicle , very fortunate for the quick response of other drivers. Fuel reading wrong first time car shut off while driving showing 1/ 4 tank of gas. Now shuts off showing more than 3/4 tank of gas this happen on the highway, lost all power steering as well. Again I had two young children in car. Seat belt not working properly. Headlight very dim at night not good few for night time driving. This vehicle is becoming more unsafe to drive.

During a left side impact collision with a semi truck the left seatbelt of the middle row seat failed to lock. It caused my backseat passenger to be thrown from side to side in the van because of the seatbelt releasing too much slack upon collision. She sustained multiple injuries and was unable to walk for 6 weeks.

3 Seat Belt problem

The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Caravan. The contact stated that while driving 25 mph through an intersection, another vehicle crashed into the driver side of the contact’s vehicle. The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Caravan. The vehicle was parked and the contact detected the driver side seat belt would not latch. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician stated that the failure was contributed to a latch fork in the seat belt sticking or possibly the spring being worn. The new part was replaced at the owners expense for $400. 00. There was a recall under NHTSA campaign id number 04v047000 seat belts, front retractor); however, the VIN was excluded from the recall defect. The failure mileage was 112,228. 5 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 09/30/2009

Seatbelt ceased to function. Seems to be a problem/defect with the retractor mechanism. Seatbelt in question is second row, passenger side. Had a child car seat secured in our vehicle with seat belt. Child outgrew seat, so switched out for a booster seat. Attempted to buckle child into booster seat. Seat belt locked across child's chest. I unbuckled the seat belt to re-buckle it more comfortably. The seatbelt "gave" a little slack, then froze in it's position. It no longer retracts, nor does it extend further. Concerned, because how would the broken belt have functioned had there ever been a crash? moreover, concerned about safety/functionality of other belts in the vehicle.

6 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2008

Rear seat belts (all 4) sudden stop on 5/08 at approx 30mph passenger side middle seat shoulder belt failed to restrain an 8 yr old child from bending forward - resulting in lower abdomen injury requiring emergency room visit the following day.
