When I start engine everything is ok but air bag light stay on dashboard all the time and I hear 2 or 3 sounds after that no sound but airbag light is on all the time when engine is running. I see that 2006 Dodge Caravan have recall on air bag module, I did not receive any mail from Chrysler regarding this recall .
The contact owns a 2006 Dodge grand Caravan. The contact stated that the air bag light illuminated on an instermittent basis. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, but the dealer could not diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in the recall associated with NHTSA campaign id number 10v008000 (air bags: frontal: sensor control module). Air bag light came on and stayed on while driving. Dodge dealer replaced right front impact sensor and connector.
I have a 2006 Dodge grand Caravan and I have 55,000 miles on it. My air bag light came on and it stays on. The book said to get it fixed immediately so I called a dealership that is 30 miles one way and they said it would cost $79. 00 to look at it and it would cost up to $300. 00 if the air bag sensor was bad. I then called a local auto shop and they said they could check it for $49. 00 and they did. The rt front air bag sensor was indeed bad. It had corrosion inside it. The total bill might come to $150. 00 or more. I checked on line and see, there was a Dodge/Chrysler recall on the 2005 model for corrosion getting in the sensor and causing them to fail (which is the same thing my 2006 did) why isn't the 2006 models included in the recall? I called Chrysler and they said if it gets put on a recall list then I would be reimbursed for my expenses because that would be a safety issue no matter where I had it fixed.
