I bought a 2007 Dodge Caravan, the drivers side window switch seems to be burning out not allowing me to roll the window down on the electric switch and when it does, has a hard time trying to go back up. Then my drivers side passenger van door has a button on top in the front that you can hit it and its suppose to open that side of the van door, the van door also doesn't open from the inside it has to be opened on the outside posing a dangerous issue. But the other switch opens the passenger side van door fine. My 3rd row seats don't want to stay up , they want to lay down posing safety hazards. My bearings or something sound bad, and my passenger side door has to be opened on the inside and wo'nt open on the outside.
I have the same problem of intermittently stalling that others report after fueling. It comes and goes.
I pulled into the gas station and filled up the fuel tank. Tried to start the Dodge grand Caravan and it didn't even try to start. I just put in a new battery before the trip, so I had plenty of electrical power, it was acting like it would if you left it in the drive position. Put it in neutral, same effect, back into park, no luck. Pushed it out of the gas pump area, tried again, no spark. I had to have it towed to the service station.
The two overhead map lights stopped working. Upon investigation it appears that each light bulb and holder were severely scorched at the electrical contact. The plastic was melted and was black in color, indicating possible arcing. Further investigation showed that the main housing was melted enough to deform the plastic, further evidence of potentially a small fire or electrical arcing. Dealer refused to fix or replace damaged housing without a charge. I left the bulbs out, as I do not feel safe with my wife and grand daughter in the vehicle that could catch fire. I have searched online and found many incidents similar to mine, yet not recalls are found for this unsafe condition.
Dome light bulb socket had burn marks form overheating and contacts overheated and plastic melted making the bulb inoperative. Appears to be a fire hazard.
I drive a 2007 Dodge Caravan. The passenger side window motor has gone out. We have called around for a replacement and have fount out that these years are very well known for this problem. My van only has 8,797 miles on it. Why has there never been a recall. . All vans of this make and model have had to have there motors replaced. . My mom was looking at one and they dealer told her the motors have been replaced. So now I have to spend 200. 00 to get a entire replacement part. The check engine light has been going on and off randomly since the car was 3 months old. Purchased new. Told by a dealer in reno and a dealer in las vegas that it was nothing, they could not find a problem. Now after replacing the air conditioner condensor, and a new engine the whole body control module is going crazy. The whole panel goes on and off - abs light, engine check light, air bag light, etc, the speedometer gauges etc--sometimes they work other times they shut down. This is dangerous not knowing your correct speed or if there is a problem with the automobile. Both automatic sliding doors quit a year ago and the lock on the passenger slider door quit working.
The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Caravan. While driving at various speeds, the vehicle would completely shut off and have to be restarted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer on three separate occasions, but they could not duplicate the failure. The current mileage was 24,629 and failure mileage was 21,829.
I boght a Dodge Caravan in June of 2007. In November it died while I was driving it. It wasn't while I was starting or stopping, it was while driveing. All the electrics go out, the window where the gear and milage lights stay on. There is no sputtering, stalling, just simply dies. I have to put in in nuetral, while stearing (no power) and restart it. I have had it at the dealer 3 times, it has done this 4 time, and the dealer cannot duplicate the problem. I had a Chrysler engieneer out to chaeck it and they could also not duplicate the problem. So now they tell me I have to wait for it to die more often and maybe they can find a problem.
